Multi-team

Nah im hardly ever the host in match making. It really does seem strange, battle rifles take a good 5 or so hits to kill someone, while duel smgs can kill someone much quicker.

It really does feels as if they have done something to the damage to make it harder to be killed from a distance which would sorta make sense.

That would require an update.

If you're talking about up close, duel SMGs have always ripped people up.

No even at a distance. It just seems strange, it doesnt feel or play the same such as big team battle. I duno what it is but the damage feels different. And especially being shot out of a ghost which on something like headlong is a rare occurance.

If you guys actually read the Bungie website updates you'd see that they are aware of the multi-team splitting thing. It's an unexpected by-product of the autogrouping because usually there are only 2 teams. They've already had plenty of mail about it and they're going to look at it for the next update.

I agree it's shit but they didn't do it intentionally. Multi-team is fun by yourself (as long as your comrades don't quit out), but going on with friends it always splits you. As the point of the Friends list is to play alongside your friends, not against them, I hope they fix it sooner rather than later.

As for the multi-team gametypes, the neutral bomb ones are AWFUL, a complete waste of ten minutes and shocking that it made it in because it's so random. Oddball is ok on some levels, and Slayer and King of the Hill kick ass. It should be really good once they let you play with your friends.

PS Would be nice to see more peeps online during the week evenings, around 8/9/10 pm. Some nights hardly anyone is on, this is the last chance we have to play Halo 2 before it gets lost in the mire of Xbox 360 and the novelty of new playlists wear off!

Do Bungie actually test things at all, then? Or even think about them before just releasing them and seeing how it goes? How on earth can be be unexpected: it's obvious that teams would be spilt if they made it unranked and allowed any size parties in.

They've fucked up good and proper on this one. Again.

Me, REAL and Atarian went into Multi Team last night and it actually grouped us together about 4 times in a row (after 1 game of split-up). It was great! It is really fun when you are playing with your friends, especially the Slayer games. Hope to god they fix this soon because it was fab. No idea why we got lucky, maybe because we were all in europe and everyone else was over the pond?

Once again, it only splits you up if it has to becuase of odd numbers. For example if 2 partys of 6 join it won't split anyone up. However if partys of 3, 4 and 5 join it has to split everyone up to be fair. Otherwise you would all be in here complaining about how it split you up but it didn't split up some other group and they won becuase of it.

that's what i meant anyway, if i didn't go in as a 3 and it split me up then it'd be my stupid fault. i shouldn't have to pay the penalty though if i do go in as a 3 yet somebody else doesn't.

about time it was ranked then, eh?

No you could be in a three and some gayers coming in as a 5 would be messing it up. Thats just how it has to work unless it's ranked.

No, it could still be unranked and not split you. The reason it does is that it allows parties of more than three in. If it was limited to three, it wouldn't have to split parties, ranks or no ranks.

Is there something different about the damage? Because battle rifles seem weaker than in the other modes, while smgs will take out someone with a br in seconds. Also when ive been on a ghost i can be killed off it instantly where as normally im pretty indestructable on it.

Spunky.

You.

Suck.
