I think the guns look cool (i'm a sucker for cool guns) and I think the FPS sequence looks interesting, but I feel this has a Resident Evil feel to it.

I wouldn't hold your breath.

Well, at least it has the creatures and gore from the games which is more than RE can say.

I'm not saying there's no chance of it being any good. I was quite glad to hear that were going to be using stan winston's puppets, along with the cgi.

But I'm annoyed that they took the Hell element out completely. I mentioned Resident Evil because that looked quite flashy, but was shit.

Resurecction time...

Isn't this out this weekend in the states? Surely someone here has seen it (legit or not)?

Come, tell us all about it. I really need to know how shit it is.

(Having said that I did get stupidly excited at the trailer at the flicks the other week)

It's out for Hallowe'en in the US, December 2 in the UK.

That's weird. Even the UK version of IMDb has it listed opening this week but when you follow the link for Doom it tells you 2nd Dec. It must have been pushed back at the last minute because this was down for an October release.

I've never had any hopes for this movie. But after reading some of the comments in this thread I became more positive.

Until I watched that rubbish "teaser".

Great, they even managed to add that clicking sound that the Predator makes because they cant come up with anything themselves? And why did they have to change the concept....whats wrong with beasts from hell? I'm starting to belive that there were a Hollywood

Zionist/Fire Baptist agenda that caused that.

I predict this movie will have alot of unnecessary gunfire and a stupid amount of muzzle flames instead of the "dark-kill-monsters-with-a-vengeance" scenario that Doom really is.

I suspect, and I'm betting my £5.- that it will be absolute rubbish.

This is doom allright, doomed to hit boxoffice just like Resident Evil because idiot teenagers think they are watching quality stuff.

Well, the beasts from Hell are reserved for the sequel. This is the Resident Evil version of Doom complete with fucking sewers and some cobblers about the human genome. I was very excited about the movie, especially seeing a very rough shakycam version of the FPS sequence. Seeing it in proper video ruins it somewhat - the "reload" bit sucks utter balls. I'm just gutted they didn't do the definitive movie version and find some way to line their pockets a bit more.

Hopefully Weta won't fuck over Halo as a movie.

Go onto the Official Site and check out some of the movie clips. They're very dull and unexciting, plus the interview section has The Rock talk about the movie before staring a bit too long for a few seconds. I saw fear in those eyes.

From what I can establish on rottentomatoes.com, fans of the game will like it more than horror fans, but not by much. I'll probably still pick up that there soundtrack though.
