Aye, they all have a sourcing fee- what the fuck? :)

*Blah blah blah...*

The supply issues appear to extend to software too. Amazon.co.uk has begun charging an extra £10-12 for certain Xbox 360 titles, including Call of Duty 2, Dead or Alive 4, Project Gotham Racing 3, Full Auto and Kameo: Elements of Power.

Other online retailers we checked with today do not appear to be levying the 'finder's fee', which a number of consumers claimed lifts the effective UK price even further above what US buyers pay for Xbox 360 games.

A £49.99 title now costs £61.99 from Amazon.co.uk, including the £12 sourcing fee. That's the equivalent of $108 - compared to the $59.99 Amazon.com is asking.

Wahoo! Picked up a Premium pack from Woolies today. Didn't bother with any games - refuse to pay shop prices and I am mainly interested in the Arcade side of things. (I'm thinking NSS arcade here...) Played a bit of Geometry wars and i'm like, WOW!

Nothing much to say really, just needed to share that new console feeling. :P

After playing with the machine for a couple of weeks now, I have to say how impressed I am with wireless controllers. I've never had one before - largely thinking it was a bit of a gimmick, and that I was more than happy with a cable. But bloody hey, it's great - I also find it fantastic that it keeps the rumble bits and bobs in. Whilst I've only played PGR3, the bumbs feel rather effective - certainly moreso than on my PS2 controller really.

Bloody fantastic controller though - and being able to switch the machine on and off with it is possibly the best thing ever.

Indeed so. I was initially planning to offer it in exchange for a wired controller in the trading thread as soon as I got the machine, but now having used it for a week and a bit I don't think I'll ever want to go back.

The wireless controllers are very impressive indeed, battery life is a bit on the short side though, I've had to change the batteries twice in about a month and a half.

Yeah battery life doesn't last long, proberly because of the rumble meaning it has to send signals forwards and backwards, unlike the Wavebird which only had to send signals to the Gamecube. You should pick up a plug and play charger kit though, it will pay for itself in batteries within the year and seems to last a few weeks per charge even with heavy use.

Does anyone else have a problem with viewing the PGR 100 gamertile within the Friends list? It is this image:

and is used by Preacher amongst others.

Yes. It has never shown up in the friends list for me either.

And seemingly in a fair amount of places it's only £10 which seems an uncharacteristic bargin from MS really.

Yep, the Play and Charge kit is definitely worth getting.

Buy a pack of four 2600 mAh AA rechargables and a decent charger if you don't already have one. Don't bother with the 'Play and Charge' kit, the batteries that come with it have a lower capacity than they should have.

And turn rumble off. Not worth the battery drain.

What I like about the play and charge kit is that it charges even when the Xbox 360 is off (but plugged in, of course). Which is ace.

Yeah although having that monster of a Power Supply running always scares the shit out of me.

Really? I didn't know that. The light goes off on my P&C if I turn the 360 off. Also, the first P&C pack I bought made the light on my pad stay on (well, glow), even when the pad was turned off. Called Xbox support and they sent me a new pad, but I still had the same problem (On both pads). Bought a new P&C and still the same problem. Got another and still the same. Utter shit for a system which hovers close to the £300 mark.

I was thinking it was pretty impressive that they've so far lasted 12 days/about 20 hours of gaming. Although I am planning to simply use rechargable AA's when the set that come with it die, so I'm not too worried about how often they need replacing.

2600 mAh AA Rechargable batteries, OK noted.

Turn rumble off? I dunno, I lived without it fine using my Wavebirds but the rumble is well implemented on the 360 pad and it can add that little bit more immersion.

For all the hassle of taking the rechargeable batteries out and charging them up and then putting them back in and all that, I'd rather just get a play and charge kit to be honest. They might not last as long, but they still last ages and can be charged up through the 360 overnight, when it's powered off.

PGR3 is the first game where I've thought rumble has added to the experience. I dunno if the way its been implemented is better or what.

Previous to PGR3 I've always thought of rumble as a useless gimmick, and have had no problems turning it off.

Spot on. It's hassle free and you don't have to have a second lot charged ready for when the current lot run out. Play and Charge is great.

Play and Charge is great although I hear reports of people not bothering to disconnect and then ending up with... yep, a wired controller. Battery life has been pretty decent for me so far, although I do play non-vibrating puzzle games a lot more than I should. I think there's a pretty nice resurgence of old skool gaming through not only high scores but all this gamerscore stuff too, although my gamerscore at the moment is woeful. Mutant Storm's x4 Multiplier is next on my to-do list.
