The Official Xbox 360 Thread

I have to admit that although I'm impressed with the console I'm distinctly unimpressed with every game bar PGR3 which has to be a huge disappointment personally. The only games I'm interested in are PGR3, Top Spin and Amped. Chance are not one of them will make it to launch.

The first Xbox 360 demonstration units were shipped to Wal-Mart stores across the United States last week to great fanfare, and have since been plagued with reports of problems with the wireless functionality on the devices - which Microsoft has now confirmed is a known problem that it is working on a fix for.

The issue appears to be that the wireless controllers for the device (reports on this are confused, but as far as we can gather the pads are wireless but have a USB plug running into the back of them to keep them charged up) are interfering with wireless equipment used by many retailers, including product scanners.

Haha, oops.

That really should be a budget title on Xbox arcade. I'd love to have a proper Live version of Tetris, comparing high scores across my friends list- just I'm not paying more than a fiver for it!

cheeky cunts, that's over £20

Why does MS use the wireless pads in the demo pod anyway? Surely its just a massive waste of money for them to do so.

They don't, but the 360 will still have its side of the wireless stuff, which may be getting confused by signals from something else at Walmart and trying to respond.

By all account pretty much anything that uses any form of wireless will break Wal-mart's systems, wireless speakers, cordless phoones, you name it. I doubt it's going to be a problem in any normal domestic situation.

Those who pre-ordered at Game should start to worry. Rumblings from MS show Game only recieving 15% of the Xbox 360's destined to the UK compared to 43% heading to Gamestation Stores.

Rumors say that Game were trying to get a lower trade price and MS basiclly dropped there allocation.

The new www.xbox.com is looking class, boys. Can't wait for the Live integration.

DON'T WE KNOW IT :( ....

If there's one feature that gives the Xbox 360 a signature look, it's the slightly concave "hourglass" appearance. As one designer noted, it seems to be holding its breath before exhaling. All its power and all its strength seems to be held tight within, ready to burst out at any moment.

:lol::lol:

Rare working on two new 360 titles, says Moore

Xbox VP Peter Moore has revealed that Microsoft-owned Rare, the studio behind Kameo and Perfect Dark Zero, is currently working on two more new titles for the Xbox 360.

Speaking to MTV News, Moore said that Microsoft plans to "leverage Rare's incredible ability to broaden the demographic that are attracted to the consoles." He added that the new games, both of which have already been in development for almost two years, will be officially announced in the spring.

That's nott all Moore said.

Moore also discussed the decision to name the new console Xbox 360, telling MTV: "We tried Xbox 2. We tried a number of names. Went around the world for four months, and Xbox 2 got a shrug of the shoulder."

"Then we explained the Xbox 360 as a living entertainment experience powered by human energy that revolves around you and makes you at the center of your experience and people were like [snaps fingers]... 'I get that.'"

No wonder the PSU is so big - it harnesses the power of human energy.

What a cock.
