try the next couple of weeks!  these things have to go through certification as well don't you know!  And that goes for all the launch games.  By the sounds of things it seems MS are trying to let us down gentley that a few of the big guns might not make it for launch day.  But as long as they're out before xmas it can't be all that bad really.

Something tells me Microsoft will be a bit lax on the certification if being too hardcore on it would delay one of their star games.

yea i agree, but they're right when they say that one dodgy version can ruin a franchise worth millions...i think they'd rather take an extra week/two on a few games if they know they can perfect them, and still get them out before xmas. The shortage will be system wise, not software after all it seems...

of course it's not a good thing.  altough Live will be free for that kindo of thing this time (kudos MS), it doesn't mean everyone has BB and access to it anyway.

I specifically said that it wasn't a good thing, but if everyone has access to it (which they would) for free then it's not as big a problem as it was this gen where only people that had Xbox Live or bought magazines could get to the patches.

And to be honest, it wasn't much of a problem this gen was it?

LOL sorry about that :(

no, good idea, hope they can keep these pods around during the whole life cycle.

Still doesnt solve moving save files over, but i've thought about that...

all they need is some management tools on the 360, then you plug a crossover cable between your 360 and xbox, and you're done. you can view all your saves and transfer them across...in theory no?

Just thought I'd say that I spoke to a guy in gamestation and he said that the 100 biggest games stores in the UK will be getting demo pods but he didn't know when. I really need to see PGR3 running in high def on one of those pods before I put my hand in my pocket.

I'm sure this has been covered already but I hope they remember to add a battery or, preferably, some flash memory to the 360 so that I don't have to re-enter the bloody time/date whenever I turn the thing on (I'm away a lot)....

It's a small thing but really bugged the hell out of me.

Mate, thats shit. If you have dial-up, there is no problem just using Internet Connection Sharing for Xbox Live Silver stuff since its just patches and downloads. Hell, I was playing Xbox Live over ISDN for a while "back in the day".

Pressing A once after you plugged the machine in bugged the hell out of you? It sets the time correctly as soon as you log into Live.

ICS over 56k? Hilarious. I'm sure that'll keep people without broadband happy.

It's still shit. There are loads of people without any kind of access to the internet whatsoever.

What are they supposed to do with a buggy game?

Well, yes, it does because a) I wasn't aware of that pressing A trick and b ) I let my Live subscription expire a long time ago so yeah, it does bug the hell out of me.

As I've pointed out several times all you have to do is walk into your local game store and plug a memory card into the demo pod.

But it's not like you're going to need to do that anyway. How many Xbox games had a bug-fixing patch for single player, one? All I can think of is Unreal Tournament.

Has anyone seen the gameplay video of 99 Nights on Gametrailers? Theres a decent HD cam video there. Technically it looks good, indeed great, but quite dull. Slightly dissapointed as I was hugely imporessed by the original trailer. I was just wondering how people think it compares with other games of it's ilk? Your opinions?

So let's say I suddenly came into a bit of money. Is there anywhere at all now I could preorder the 360 from that'd be able to provide one on launch day?

I'd stay way clear of any traditional game shop. Go for somewhere on the High Street that's going to get them in, but has a tiny games section.
