Not true, I found it took me less time to do RSG on insane than on Hard, the biggest RSG barrier for me was on normal.

Since insane is hard mirrored with smaller dots, you should kinda know the patterns anyway, so it shouldn't take you that long.

I did it the other way. I found RSG on hard to be easy and I did it on my 2nd or 3rd go. But on Insane... <_<

Mine shipped from YesAsia last Wednesday so I'm patiently waiting on it arriving.

I'm not one for the rhythm game as I ain't got any. Rhythm that is. :) But from the glowing reviews and comments here it seems that it's one of those titles that just has to be savoured. Looking forward to it. Cheers folks.

Dont worry GasMan, the game will tutor you well enough that you'll be able to get through the whole thing in time. It has probably the best learning curve of any game I've ever played (the only difficulty spike being the last level on normal).

I disagree, that level with the giant mouse on is also a complete pain in the arse, can't get into the rhythm of it at all and am contemplating selling the game on.

Nah, I'm with Polmon on this. Ouendan's learning curve is really well judged with the exception that he righly made for RSG on Normal which took many, many more retries than any of the other levels. Lots of people seem to expect to sail through games these days, especially music games. Games don't have to be Robotron hard but they should present a challenge and reward practice.

If you're using the regular DS stylus then I'd recommend heading over to the trading folder and buying one of Blue's lovely wooden ones instead. I guarantee that'll make it easier because your hand won't be blocking a third of the screen like it does with the default plastic DS stylus and Blue's are also much more comfortable to use. I was strugging with all the levels on Insane but I practically breezed through them with my new wooden stylus.

Keep with it, most people seem to hit a wall at the end of Normal difficulty. But by the time you're trying to crack RSG on Insane you'll wonder what all the fuss was about.

It just keeps giving even after completing all levels on insane too.

Extra time is rewarded with better and better scores and ranks on each level, it is amazing just how you always seem to progress.

Spend some quality time with a level and you will notice much more regular 300s are until you can S rank the level with unnerving consistency.

It truly is the best handheld game ever.

i dunno, i done that first time :)

Oh quiet you

Maybe you're just blessed with natural talent at this sort of game. I once came across a friend of a friend, and his sister, who wanted a go at 2 player Samba de Amigo and they were both just naturally brilliant at it. They practically demolished our best performances on their first go inspite of the fact that we'd been playing it obsessively for weeks and were pretty damn good by that point (or so we thought!)

Yeah, they do (although amusingly, on their site they say they pay the VAT for you :D )

Actually they ship through a place in the UK, meaning in theory you should never have to pay import duty on anything (as they presumably pay, or dont pay, this themselves), I think thats what their site is refering to.

Well, got a confirmation email this morning.

Bad news: predicted shipping date: 14th Nov

Got a feeling I won't have any cash left in my bank by then, what with some Direct Debits due, etc.. SHIT. Get paid on the 16th too  JUST TAKE THE MONEY NOW YESASIA! MY DIRECT DEBITS DONT CARE ABOUT MY OVERDRAFT LIMIT :D

A quick, OT, question.  Do yesasia mark items down for you? (considering getting a black ds plus goodies from them :D)

My copy of Ouendan and my red DS came from YesAsia (on separate occasions). Ouendan was re-posted from within the UK, whereas the DS came straight from Hong Kong but marked down to $20. (this was without me asking).

I got myconfirmationtoo with the same shipping date, luckily I paid with paypal so the money is already taken.

Just hope they ship it out earlier than the 14th as I want it now

I did RSG last night on the harder of the two initial levels (normal?) which was a personal triumph. Only had a quick go on the new difficulty level but it looks like the difficulty curve is expertly judged as it seems to keep just ahead of my always improving skills.
