Rental?

Or a GAME style rental if you have any nearby game shops that operate any X-day money back guarantee's.

I suppose I could rent...Havent rented games since the SNES days though...

And there's no such thing as GAME in Holland...just bloody Free Record Shop, which is a poor man's Virgin Megastore, I suppose... :(

I must admit I was really underwhelmed by the opening 2 sections but its really REALLY picking up now.

The section where you get your hands on the sniper for the first time is great fun, sneaking around, picking off guards from long range or creeping up and knifing them... The whole balance of the game seem to come together then, and that followed by some excellent vehicle sections

I hope the game doesnt suddenly dip just as it was getting good... :D

Im loving this so far. Did a section earlier where I took out an entire base of enemies without being noticed, took me a lot longer than it would have if I'd have just blasted my way through but using traps and backstabbing is a lot more satisfying.

I've just gotten the feral powers and fucking hell its fun to uppercut an enemy 30 foot into the air and listen to their scream and then the splash as they land in a river.

I understand the game gets a bit shitty later on but im loving it so far, most fun I've had with a game since Resi 4.

So when the dual sticks arrived with the PS2 and Xbox, most FPS' offered us several thumbstick configs to use.

Out of interest wasn't Quake II on the PS1 the first single joypad dual stick fps. It had rotate and forward / backward on the left stick, and up / down and strafe on the right stick, with no other stick configuration options.

It peaks before it gets dark for the first time.

After that, it goes downhill rapidly, hitting its very lowest point when you reach the caves. It bounces back up once you emerge into the daylight again and has a lot of fun moments around the cliffs, but then gets rubbish once you make it back indoors, and stays rubbish from there onwards.

Anyone else had problems with the goddamn autosave ?

I reloaded a level after wasting all my ammo shooting at a helicopter, now whenever I die it puts me right back at the start

Must of wasted about two hours getting the end of level, getting killed and doing it all over !

I really don't like those tool soldiers that fling themselves at you and then blow up, however it's quite funny when you manage to punch one and they go flying back then explode.

I like the way they scream as they run at you, reminds me of Serious Sam. We must be quite close to the end now right?

Dunno about that but my player profile somehow became corrupted and had to be deleted, now I need to start the campaign from scratch with a new profile  .

After having played the first few levels I'm hard pushed to think of something more depressing*. You have my sympathies.

*Except having to watch that fucking useless intro again (and again, and again...)

You can avoid having to watch that intro by setting the clock on your xbox when you turn it on. Just change the year by 1 whenever your turn on your xbox and you'll not have to suffer through it.

Anyway whats the gag with all (POSSIBLE SPOILER) dinosaur/lizardy type things running around? Does the game explain where they come from and I just havent been paying attention?

yep the only way ive got the autosave working again is by deleting the profile and starting again, so thats several hours of play down the pan.

I'll try that intro skip trick too as it goes on for bloody hours !

My autosave seems to have stopped working now, whenever I die (which has been a lot on the cliff level, keep falling off edges when exploring) and try to load back up my game my xbox crashes so I need to restart the level from scratch.

Anger rising <_<.

Edit - An autoupdate was available to download yesterday so I'm hoping thats fixed a few of the lag issues when on live and some of the profile/save bugs etc.

All I do is hit start on the first screen that appears and it goes directly to the push start screen

Started playing and wasn't too impressed. I mean yeah it was a technical marvel but I'd already played Far Cry on the PC. Then the jab came and the game has become utterly fantastic. Nothing more fun than rampaging through a group of soldiers or hitting one of the side of a cliff and waiting for the splash. I love the feeling of becoming a more powerful creature as you progress through the game. That big fat git is a bitch to take down the first time but then next time it's piss easy as you've grown.

Far superior to the PC game but now I'm stuck on Crowe

in his villa. Anyone done it and can give us a few hints? I find it hard to hit him and protect myself from the mutants at the same time

It's a bitch and any help would be great. Ta.

Just got this today and the first couple of levels were a bit disheartening, with eagle-eyed or retarded A.I and vehicle control giving me that sinking feeling. But the ammo dump level has been quite a laugh and the visuals really do kick in after the 'demo levels'. It seems the rest of Indigo Prophecy will have to wait.

I just killed crowe, in fact just finished it.

I found it best to stay away from him at the opposite side of the area. Take out the mutants as they come down. They only come from three places so it's not too tricky. There's only about 15-20 of them. Once they stop, hide behind the helicopter and let Crowe have it with your biggest gun. He'll hop down after a while then just circle round the helicopter peppering him. Also, he susceptible to being twatted in the face. So keep doing that and jobs agood un!

How long do you need to keep that up for? I did exactly that but he wouldn't die. I emptied out all my guns and at least went on a rampage 5 times and twatting him hard. The git just wouldn't die.

Bad Ubisoft.

Not too long. Takes quite a few hits. Try and take out all the mutants with your fists. Save your ammo, then there should be loads of it lying around, more than enough to take him down.
