The only slight upside is that if the booking server is down for us, it'll be down for everyone else, including people booking in person. Maybe.

Nope. Bookings in person at the Filmhouse box office were working fine, the queue just took forever. I was waiting from just before 12 and finally got my tickets for Serenity five minutes ago. wOOt!

Glad I decided to take my lunch early rather than booking online now.

Fuck it. I'm off to the filmhouse.

The queue is taking forever btw. Plus, pretty much everyone in the queue seems to want tickets for Serenity.

You'll probably get them for the Wednesday showing, but you're gonig to have to be damn lucky to get them for Monday.

No luck here. I got errors for the first hour, including being told that I couldn't book three, five, or eight tickets as these were "more than nine tickets", and then having them ripped from my basket five minutes into the checkout process (on my third attempt to enter card details) because apparently I'd been completely inactive for twenty minutes.

Add in the phone line which was always either engaged or a recorded message that the line won't open until noon, and I'm understandably pissed off. It's now sold out.

Keep trying, Alex. Wednesday doesn't seem to be sold out yet.

Good luck mate.

It might be a completely random coincidence, but are you choosing "Please post my tickets to me" or "I'll collect them from the box office"? I was obviously choosing to pick them up from the box office as I'm in Edinburgh, but once I changed it to sending them to me, it suddenly worked.

Might be the randomest coincidence ever. But then, you never know.

Always sending them to me.

Mind you, I only got that far once, then its mysterious 5 minute 20 minute active inactive timeout knicked my fucking tickets.

I'll go to the showing anyway, get my tickets back by force. *twitch* Have it, geeks!

I really can't believe they didn't anticipate this happening. Someone on Empire's forums posted:

'The EIFF say we crashed their website straight away, and jammed the local phone exchange! They're not too happy as you can imagine. I did warn them that would happen, only to be greeted with a smug "I think we'll cope, this is one of the world's biggest film festivals".'

They should have listened, have they never heard of Sci-Fi/Fantasy/Horror TV show fans being obsessively dedicated?

I'm a wee bit confused now. After ages of being stuck on the details screen, it removed the tickets from my basket. I then tried to re-add them and it did (Wednesday tickets - Monday being sold out of course) and now I'm back to the checkout again. Are they sold out or what?

Hard to say. It might be the same load of tickets cycling through a bunch of unlucky folks' baskets...

Failed here as well. Was at work today so had hoped to get though on the phone, but no luck 2 hours of an engaged tone, then 2 hours of the phone ringing and going to a awnser phone leads me to be a bit fucked off today.

I rang the fil mfestival main phone number to ask why i could basket tickets but my credit card number kept showing as invalid, and why the phone kept going to pre recorded message.

He told me it was basically tough luck and it was because they were using crap payment software online and they underestimated demand on the phones
