I’ve never read 1984. It’s one of those works quoted so many times I figured it was like the blockbuster of literature, something everyone loves because it’s easily lovable and without depth. It just shows how stupid I am. 
 

Then I heard this

My MP3 player "drops through" from one band to another, so when I ran out of Sugar the other day (which I regularly listen to) I dropped into Super Furry Animals, which I'd pretty much forgotten about. I only have the one album, but it's a fun listen. Demons is maybe the best of them though. Love this:

It isn't the best Queen song. It was never going to be seeing as it was cut from an album and forgotten about but, well, fuck me if I don't get shivers every time Freddie sings the word "soooooo" in his incredibly unmistakable style.

 

Freddie Mercury is, in my mind, the greatest of all time.
