Christ. - Distance Lends Enchantment To The View

After listening to it a couple of times and making comparisons with some Boards Of Canada stuff (it's much more beat heavy than BoC, but the synth pads and swashes of noise that accompany the tracks will seem familiar) I realised that it's the guy who worked on Twoism, one of the early BoC albums.

Well worth listening to considering it's on Spotify.

Christ.'s great- you'll probably like Frog pocket, too.

It's the same version of Piggy that is on the "And All That Could Have Been" (Halo 17) DVD from 2002. Trent is giving it all he's got.

(I love how he even hits himself on the head with his mike in this clip, hehe, he is well into it)

I'd forgotten how much I came to intensely dislike the Red House Painters. I bought the first couple of lps on release, and then they somehow stopped sounding good to me, turning into a load of empty, although pretty, nonsense. It was very odd, they were kind of my ideal band at the time - there was a sort of indie competition to see who could play the slowest songs, bands like Codeine, Red House Painters and Idaho, and RHP were certainly the most tuneful of the lot. I can't remember the singers name (Mark someone?) but is his solo stuff in the same vein?

Ok. Well to contribure something positive, I'm currently trying to work out my top 20 of the decade's best albums, so currently listened to tracks from stuff I'm considering:

All Night Long - Sun Araw - awesome, droney West Coast / dub / soul tinged psychedelia. A really listenable mess from the Heavy Deeds album.

The Bees Made Honey In The Lions Skull - Earth - the stand out track of the same titled album. A warm, droney fuzz that gradually builds to nothing much at all.
