This was when they still had Dave Abbruzzese on drums, and I think his playing style is largely what gives the unplugged performance the sense of raw energy and drive that it has. I get the same feeling listening to the VS album (which was the only album Abbruzzese got to finish before they kicked him out in the middle of recording Vitalogy). They've had a bit of a tough streak with their drummers over the years I guess.

And, as you said, Eddie's vocals are amazing!

It's a shame Al Jourgensen pretends this stuff was the result of over-zealous producers working for the label. They were pretty good at the Synth Pop thing.
