The Louvin Brothers - In the Pines.

it's on an old country album from 1956 so imagine my suprise when I hear the lyrics go

'in the pines, in the pines where the sun don't ever shine and you shiver the whole night through'

Nirvana did a inspired by 'cover' on the unplugged album. I'm amazed.

Got round to adding the two Selected Ambient Works albums from Aphex Twin onto my Foobar playlist this evening, along with Here Come The Warm Jets from Eno and the Julien Neto album. Really enjoying listening to these again ... therefore:

Aphex Twin - Rhubarb

Because it is timeless.

It's an very old traditional folk/blues number dating back to the 1870s

It's been covered/done by lots of people, most famously Leadbelly and Nirvana

I thought everyone knew that

Julien Neto - VI

A lovely track from Julien Neto which also features the man behind Helios and Goldmund.

I feel like I should expand at the moment because I've just gotten round to getting hold of some things I've been meaning to own for quite a while:

Aphex Twin - Selected Ambient Works 85-92

Aphex Twin - Selected Ambient Works Volume II

Julien Neto - Le Fumeur De Ciel

Goldmund - Corduroy Road

Goldmund - The Malady Of Elegance

The Flashbulb - Kirlian Selections

The Flashbulb - Soundtrack To A Vacant Life

Helios - Eingya

If you're interested, all but The Flashbulb and Aphex Twin can be listened to on Spotify right now.

I'm looking really hard in vain for FLAC versions of The Caretaker, but luckily their website appears to have re-pressed CD versions of both records that I'm interested (A Stairway To The Stars and Theoretically Pure Anterograde Amnesia) so as soon as I can secure some money I'll be ordering those as I'm really missing not having them anymore (I deleted all my non-lossless music in a fit of rage earlier this year).
