Nintendo president Satoru Iwata has admitted that the Nintendo Revolution console may arrive on the market after Sony's PS3 - but said that it will not "fall behind by too much."
;)

The Revolution really starts to sound like a N64 sequel. Still, if the games are good and the delay will mean we'll get another couple of great games on launchday I won't complain (much).

I wonder if the Revolution will hit the shelves in the UK before PS3 (what chance we see that before Christmas 2006 I wonder... Japan Spring... US Summer... would Sony give Microsoft that much of a lead in its more popular markets). I suppose it depends on Nintendo's launch strategy.

Surely this has been common knowledge for months? Err, hello, Eurogamer, remember E3 where Nintendo didn't give any concrete details of the spec, price, launch date or anything else? Why do you think that was?

Oh, and:-

Nintendo's pledge to be first out the door in the next generation meets its end
In a marked departure from the company's promise at E3 three years ago that it would not be the last out the door in the next-generation

I think the commonly understood definition of 'not last' is not the same as 'first'.

Why don't you actually put all this stuff on a blog or something? Serious question.

Yes, the article contradicts the headline. As was the point of my original post. You mong.

Illiterate buffoons who are itching to brand people 'fanboys', apparently.

Illiterate. :)

Oh dearie me....

Let me make the point again, as you may be becoming confused. Nintendo said that they would not be last out of the gate next gen. The quoted article in the first post suggests that they will be. The end.

EDIT: And just to clarify fully, I'm talking about what Nintendo actually did say previously about the Rev's release ("We won't be last"), rather than the contradiction between GI articles that you think makes this one automatically false, when in fact the words come directly from the horse's mouth.

I know. Everybody knows. I have never disputed this. What is your point?

My apologies. I took your "contradiction" point to be the thrust of some kind of pro-Nintendo "avoiding the truth" bandwagon.

Now I've read the first few lines. I'll wake up eventually.

Whoops.

Yeah, sorry if I didn't make it clear. :)

I wonder if nintendo had the specs ready to be announced at E3 but after hearing what it's competitors had they decided to hold back and re-think the machine.

That would suggest that their specs weren't up to it, if that was the case.
