However, he also confirmed to us that he has signed a not so “secret” pre contract with Arsenal for the summer.

No idea if that blog is bullshit or not but it follows Argentine players around the world.

I don't particularly care for arsenal, but as a football fan that was the stuff of dreams. I am jealous of Arsenal fans tonight.

I thought it was all rather embarrassing and masked what was an inept performance against an awful Leeds team. I understand the reaction of some people last night. A lot of people I spoke to had never seen Henry play for Arsenal before, hence the 1000's of cameras and constant excitement & standing when people kept thinking he was coming on the pitch.

Regarding his cameo performance, Henry showed how fucking shit Arshavin & Chamakh are with a wonderful touch before stroking it into the net. Those two clowns could still be on the pitch now and still wouldn't be able to control a football between them. Henry showed that class is permanent that's for sure. It also showed how the class and quality has been sucked from the side over the last 6-7 years when you look at the rest of the squad. When Henry was in his pomp we just expected those kind of goals each and every time he was on the pitch. Yesterday people reacted like they'd never seen anything like it in their lives.

So yes, it was great seeing Henry in the shirt again, but it was a painful reminder of how good we used to be. Henry would be fed from the likes of Bergkamp, Pires, Freddie, Vieira & then Cesc in the latter years. Now all he's got behind him is some promising young players and a load of rubbish. I'm also not quite sure how Henry will affect RvP & I'm concerned that it will disrupt his play. Henry demands the ball at all times so it will be very interesting to see if they can play together.

If I'm honest, bringing Henry back is just typical Arsenal doing things on the cheap. Instead of going out and buying another quality forward, or an attack minded player like Goetze, they hope to get by with a short-term loan player. I'll be more than happy to feast on my words if they do go out and make some signings, though.

Yeah, we shouldn't have got a club legend in for free, we should have paid £45m for a German kid instead.

You're missing my point. He's here for 2 months.

My other point about disrupting the van Persie scoring machine is also valid. It concerns me. A lot.

That's still some relentlessly miserable timing, though, irrespective of whether or not you have a point about some of it. I think a lot of us have concerns about the forward situation atm and before the game would have happily voiced them. But after last night I'm feeling euphoric about the club so I'm not about to start whingeing.

Sure, there are issues that need looking at, but who gives a fuck this morning? Thierry fucking Henry just came back and scored for the Arsenal! Cheer up for once!

Van Persie has gone off the boil for the last few weeks anyway. Having literally anybody apart from Chamakh to lighten the load a bit makes a lot of sense. That it's someone of Henry's calibre is a huge bonus and an all round Good Thing. I really can't see the problem.

That he's back must surely mean Park's career is over and done with? He turns out for the ressies now and then but that's it. What a waste of money he was.

You're missing the fact that making big purchases in January is stupid because they always cost a lot more, it'd easily be £10m difference in price buying Gotze now compared to in the summer. And Henry and RVP are not going to be on the pitch together for more than an hour, if that, in total in the next 3 months unlesss every single winger gets injured. Henry will come on at 70 minutes to replace RVP, once every couple of weeks.

Steve, you make some valid points but just enjoy the moment for what it was. The club's record golascorer and legend coming back, off the bench to score the winner. Nothing else matters today.

If these pictures don't warm the cockles you are doing it wrong.

Look at Arsene's little face.

The whole "clubs only sign Asian players to sell football shirts" shtick is really tiresome.

I agree, but Inomoto shifted £3.5-£4m worth of shirts & allowed the club to flog the reserve team games rights to Japanese TV. Whether Arsenal signed him for footballing or business reasons is up-to you to decide.

There's this guy, right, and he doesn't like Arsenal or Arsene Wenger, and generally takes any available opportunity to have a pop at the club and troll Gooners. He's called Adrian Durham, and he's a cunt.

The problem I've got is that Steve's original post sounds exactly like the spiel he'll invariably churn out on his show this afternoon. Taking every opportunity to put a negative spin on things, provoking people to ring in. Coming from a Gooner that just can't be right, surely?

I like Adrian Durham. I 'get' him, but the stuff he wrote last night and this morning was just absolute bollocks. But he knows it will get the Gooners phoning up.

My post is just my take on things. I can't and won't get carried away with Henry being back. I saw him play 100's of times with my own eyes. I know how good he was/is, but it's a loan signing, a short-term fix.

I've been told a few times in this thread to "enjoy the moment". I did, but that was yesterday. Next up is Swansea away & 3 points to play for with our injury ravaged team. That's what I'm looking towards. Perhaps I'll just quit posting in this thread because I'll never be content as everyone else on here.
