It'd be better having Arshavin on from the start and bringing Walcott on in games like this, when it got a bit stretched him with fresh legs might have made a difference.

But never mind, considering this is the team that put six past the team that put eight past the start-of-season Arsenal...1-0 is fine. Few, if any, teams are going to get 3 points at the £400m Sponsorship Stadium so it won't make much difference.

I thought we were really unlucky not to get a point and the ref did have a nightmare. There was nothing wrong with Van Persie's goal and personally I thought the handball was a penalty. Aguero should have been sent off too as he absolutely clattered, I think, Koscielny about two minutes after he got booked but Sky chose not to show it again. Those are the kind of things that just seem to go against you though when you're away from home.

There's no shame in losing to those bunch of cunts though. We played really well and those kind of performances give you the impression that top 4 is well within our capabilities. We need to get a striker in though, Chamakh is beyond hope.

That mis-control to handball summed his last couple of years in a microcosm.

The result was a disappointment (especially with everyone, bar Chelsea, winning) but I was impressed with the performance and the effort. Looking at the Christmas games (away to Villa, home to Wolves and QPR then away at Fulahm) we should be looking at 12 points. Right?

Yeah I think we should be collecting a decent haul over the next few games, there's no reason why not anyway.

I was discussing it with my brother yesterday and he pointed out that the best thing Wenger did over the summer wasn't bringing in some decent characters, but rather it was getting rid of the people who were probably stinking up the place. When we were really up against it I just couldn't imagine someone like Bendtner, Nasri or Eboue being the kind of person who's likely to give a shit one way or another. It says a lot for the attitude of the team that all for a scrappy goal and some good fortune we'd have got a result against a team that cost the earth to assemble and have been humping everyone all season. I don't think Wenger has got nearly enough credit for this run of form.

Away at Fulham will be a tricky fixture, they're a decent side and kept us to a draw at home only a few weeks ago. I'd be pleased with 10 points.

He never does. There's a very close correlation between funding and success, on that basis we should have been relegated a good few seasons ago - not competing at the highest level domestically and in Europe.

Arsene's not exactly the media favourite though is he, so it's hardly surprising.

To an extent though it's the same with any club these days - the press only give a shit when things aren't going well, at which point you get four '<insert top four club here> IN CRISIS' blogs per day to drum up traffic. Man Utd, Man City and Chelsea have all been IN CRISIS recently.

I do feel bad for Arshavin, even though he was terrible in his cameo at Man City. He's got so much talent but doesn't seem suited to playing on the left of a front 3 and is out of form. Plus he doesn't seem up to the amount of pressing needed from a modern day striker. He seems a shadow of the player who put 4 past Liverpool.

I thought Coquelin and Frimpong both had a mare. Frimpong's passing has been awful. We should have more of the ball in the second half, Villa are working hard to pressure us but they can't keep that work rate up for the whole game.

Apart from a few dangerous balls being flashed across our six yard area, we've looked solid defensively. If we can get another goal, I think this game will be wrapped up.
