I want to be positive but believe, as many do, that there is something inherently mentally wrong with the preparation and players at our club which makes them so fragile. Lots of clubs have a way of being that goes deeper than the squad and its hard to change an embedded culture.

I shall use my patented pre-kick off glove count method to determine how poorly we will play against west brom, a KO temp of mid teens coupled with 4 or more pairs of gloves indicates a bad day (keeper excluded)

merf, do you not think the team has shown they do possess mental strength just in the way they've got over losing Fabregas (and Nasri to a lesser extent) and the United result? If Man Utd take 25+ points from the 10 matches after the City match I guarantee that their "mental strength" is all we'll hear about.

They are a contradictory kind of fragile, the last few weeks recovery has been impressive after that horrible start I'll agree. But take last weekend, that is a match they would lose in recent years when in the title race, now out of it we pull out a result like that. We panic and throw away the carling cup against birmingham, a 4-0 lead at newcastle, its like we cant win from the front, when expected to, but are better as an underdog coming from far back.

Thats why having had a decent run i wouldnt be surprised at all to see us have a poor game today against WBA, hope i'm wrong and see us give them a shoeing.

Guess i was wrong to worry this week, as comfy and emphatic a home win as you can hope for. We beat what was ere but west brom were awful.

Really encouraging performances from jenkinson and koscielny, they seem to have taught jenkinson how to not run like a spack with his arms out and his final ball is already leagues ahead of walcott

Good win, plus all the trains ran on time and i got a nice table in the chippie. What more can you ask for on a home fixture

Not much else to add to what has already been said. It was a good performance all round. The Koscielny & Vermaelen partnership at the back reminded me a little of an early 90's Adams & Bould as it was first class. Santos still hasn't got a clue but you can't fault him for effort. Jenkinson is still learning but he sure knows how to put in a decent cross.

There was a real buzz about the place after the game. It seems most people are now over the doom and gloom. Good stuff.
