I never get when people say they need a bigger challenge then move to a massive club that has a better than 50% chance of winning absolutely everything every single season. Surely a bigger challenge would be to haul this Arsenal team over the line and actually win something with them? It kind of takes the sport out of it by moving to Barcelona to pick up some trophies.

I do have to agree  .

Did Cesc say that?

He said he wants to win trophies and thought he'd gone as far as he could with us. All I'm saying is that winning things with Arsenal and going down in the annuls of history at the club is a bigger challenge than being a small cog within the unstoppable cup winning machine that is Barcelona.

Of course that'd be a bigger challenge, but he didn't say he wanted a challenge, he said he wanted trophies.

I think what he said is fair enough.

He came as far as he could with Arsenal and the time had difinitely come for him to go 'home' to Barcelona, his boyhood club, he's Spanish, he's a Catalan from Barcelona. It's totally fair enough if you ask me.

Who in his position wouldn't do exactly what he's done?

It's still a challenge where he's gone, just a different type of challenge to the one he would have faced at Arsenal.

At Barca, there will be huge pressure and huge expectations.

If at the end of his time at Barca he's got a few League title medals, cup medals and a couple of CL medals to show for it then who could argue with that.

Cheer up, it's the best we've played for ages.

However it ends there are a lot of positives. Arteta is looking more like an Arsenal player than anyone on the pitch.

EDIT: And from the replay it was Santos to blame for their goal, not Koscielny. Still daft, but I'm hoping he'll get to be further up the pitch in the future.

I'm happy to have seen Gervinho take that shot to be honest, much more direct and there was pace there I think another pass would have resulted in us losing the ball anyway. Nice to see a player just take chance!
