We didn't look to bad today, Arteta looked good in the 1st half, but when Wilshere is fit I do wonder if Arteta will be in the starting 11 as Ramsey is looking better and better with each game. I thought Arshavin looked good today, by far our most creative player. Theo looked good in spurts, but seems to get marked out of matches far too easily. 1st half was obviously much better than the 2nd, but we won which is the important thing!

Swansea looked a decent side, certainly better than some of the dross that's in the Premiership right now. They defended well and looked good going forward.

The last few minutes made for some uneasy watching. Fuck it. Important thing today was winning.

Yes, all that matters was that we won. It wasn't a great performance though and we were hanging on for the last 10 mins. Theo does my head in and the sooner the new left back is fit the better because Gibbs had a really poor game. Gibbs' positioning kept allowing Swansea to sneak down the flank and get balls in the box, fortunately they were unable to put anything away. And Gibbs has a horrible habit of just punting the ball aimlessly forward - giving possession away immediately.

I think Arteta looked ok, I liked how he slotted in like he's been with us for months. Arshavin had a decent game, he burnt himself out so it wasn't a surprise to see him get subbed but it was nice to see the fans recognising his effort with a standing ovation. Playing van Persie up front on his own against a team like Swansea at home is a nonsense though, it really irritates me! We made the game unnecessarily hard because of the system we were playing. A bit more positivity with team selection would be welcome. Without meaning to sound disrespectful, there was no need to be ultra cautious again Swansea.

Dortmund will be tough. They are a really decent side and a draw wouldn't be a bad result. We'll have Gervinho back so maybe Wenger will play him wide right instead of Theo?

I would agree that we make life difficult for ourselves by persisting with this dreadful 4-5-1 formation. I mean no offence to Swansea, but it should have been a fixture we'd mark down as a convincing win. It was one thing to use it against Real Madrid away, but every single game without fail is getting too much. It does Walcott no favours either as he spends most if the game receiving the ball to feet with two men on him. Something's got to change as we were really flat again and hardly bombarded them

Also good to see Bendtner up to his old tricks, missing sitters and controlling the ball like a club footed giraffe.

He'll claim it but he didn't mean it in a million years.

He definitely meant it. He did want it back afterwards, which was a bit silly, but as he scored I'm sure Bendtner won't fuss too much and it rounded off a decent debut.

No Rosicky either, as well as Ramsey.

Arsenal squad for tomorrow:

Andrey Arshavin

Mikel Arteta

Yossi Benayoun

Marouane Chamakh

Johan Djourou

Gervinho

Kieran Gibbs

Lukasz Fabianski

Emmanuel Frimpong

Laurent Koscielny

Per Mertesacker

Ju Young Park

Andre Santos

Bacary Sagna

Alex Song

Wojciech Szczesny

Robin van Persie

Theo Walcott

Starting 11 for tomorrow??

------SZCZ

Sagna--Mertesacker--Koscielny--Gibbs/Santos

-------------Song

---Theo--Arteta--Banayoun--Gervinho

-----------RVP

I think Theo will just get the nod ahead of Arshavin.

Surely we can nick a 1-1 with that team.

. I reckon our middle three will be song, frimpong and arteta. We are away from home so wouldn't be a bad idea.

From sky.com

Arsenal have handed a new contract to midfielder Henri Lansbury.

The 20-year-old is currently on a season-long loan with Championship side West Ham United.

But Arsenal have moved to secure his long-term future by handing him a new deal.

I'd really like to see him become a regular, fingers crossed.

I always liked Sylvinho. He scored one insane goal with the outside of his left foot - against Chelsea, I think.

Yeah, away at Chelsea. Dein shipped him out when they found out his documents & papers were all mickey mouse. Somone was going to go public, so the club moved him on very quickly.

Looking forward to seeing Gotze play tonight. Never seen him before, so interested to see what the hype is about.

So is Arseblog.

They’ve got some quality players and with Mario Gotze in the hole they’ll be looking to stretch the Arsenal back passage as much as possible, leaving us red raw. The manager is certainly aware of his threat and his ability to pull us apart from both sides if given the chance.
