I'm not totally against the loan tactic for Benayoun. What's the point in signing an oldish player with a record of injuries for three or four years? I think we just need to plug the holes this season and spend big for next season. Yes, it's not ideal but I don't want us to sign players that can't make the starting line up at our rivals. Otherwise we'll end up with the same situation of trying to offload the deadwood again.

Who is no better. He's a horrible human being.

if he pumps hundreds of millions into arsenal like abramovich, i couldn't care less! plus he'd bring dein with him so we can get rid of the current bunch of idiots trying their hardest to do transfers and failing spectacularly.

I couldn't disagree with you more. I think you need to read up on what actually happened behind the scenes before throwing Dein and Usmanov's names around like that's the magical answer to all our problems. Personally I would hate to see Arsenal get funded in that way.

With Abramovich and the Man City guy, aren't they just interest free loans that they can recall at any point?

Meaning if either of them get bored and piss off those clubs will go bankrupt. maybe it's just Chelsea I'm thinking of.

I suspect the unspent portion of the transfer proceeds from Nasri and Fabregas will now be devoted to the millions of pairs of socks that will have to be worn on top of each other to aid in the jaw droppingly optimistic boot filling duties that Messrs Ramsey and Wilshire have ahead of them this season.

Not a good position to be in though. Arsenal don't need more money, they just need to spend the money they have!

see that's the problem....do we actually know they have this money?

we've heard that we have shitloads of cash for the past few years but the way transfers have been so embarassingly mismanaged doesn't seem to show that. either Wenger is a stubborn fool and really had faith in shit players like almunia, squillaci etc or he is having to make do with what he can. at the end of last season we were told that arsenal would be "active" in the transfer market and we have been....busy getting rid of players. we are now panic buying in the last few days of the transfer window and mertersacker aside the class of player we are buying is just embarassing.

we are so rich that we are doing our hardest to sign an ex-liverpool has been. on loan.

Arsenal have spent nearly £30m in the last couple of days on players that will have no resale value. That suggests that they do have money to spend, but Wenger is prepared to spend it wisely rather than spunk it on one player. Just because we've got x millions doesn't mean we have to spend x millions, and just because we're not spending it doesn't mean the team is shit or that Kroenke is fucking off with it all.

Arsenal have the strongest defence they've had in years, and have some strength in depth for once. We don't have Cesc, but we're still a stronger team.

how would you like to see Arsenal funded? sadly in this day an age you need a sugar daddy or very sympathetic banks. we are going downhill without any hope on the horizon. dein probably sold his shares to usmanov as he realised this long ago.

when liverpool fans talk about the hodgson/hicks/gillett era and feeling hopelessness like we do now, at least they had interested parties looking to buy the club. we have had our takeover and gone backwards.

Finish this window with Artera's signature and then improve the contracts of Van Persie, Vermaelen, Wilshere and Walcott!

That would be fine. If we want to improve our wage structure at the top end to hang on to our best guys, and that's where the money's going, fine.

Will it happen though?

but the thing is we haven't been spending it even though we have needed to for the past few years! i've always liked wengers way of operating in the transfer market but sadly it just doesn't work anymore. he's now panic buying as a result of sundays hammering.

i personally don't think we are a shit team but we've needed a few experienced players to help the youngsters for the past few years and it just hasn't happened.

and we don't know what kroenke is doing - i suppose we'll find out when next years accounts are out.
