Terrible terrible result. We looked so bad at the back, playing such a high line with slow players who couldn't play the offside trap, we were just asking for a thrashing from United.

The worst thing is United aren't City or Chelsea, surely we could quite easily afford players like Young and Jones? This summer has been such a joke, cannot believe we waited until Cesc and Nasri were sold before trying to bring players in. the only plus I can think of is that surely now we have to go out and spend.

Henry Winter

At the end, Rosicky Arshavin Chamakh headed straight down tunnel. Van Persie shouted at them to come back & salute #afc fans.

He should have let Chamakh and Arshavin walk off and keep fucking going til they reached the sea and then kept going some more and fucking drowned themselves.

Good on him.

Your older players really let you down today and especailly let down your young players.

Arshavin really was the worst of the lot and the sooner you sell him the bettern

I don't know. I think the fans need to force some kind of statement from the Club, where we're heading, how much money is there and all that. The board needs to say something and Kroenke has been disgracefully quiet.

I agree with this. We've had Gooners at each others' throats for too long now. I witnessed scuffles first hand at the Emirates at the end of last season. This 'AKB' and 'AMG' bullshit has got to stop. We need to try and unite the fanbase into pressuring the club to make some sort of statement about what the fuck is going on, because this is not acceptable. Wenger is taking the flak and I'm pretty sure he's not solely responsible. Kroenke's silence since taking over is unforgiveable. "Spend some fucking money" or "Wenger out" just doesn't scratch the surface of this bullshit. Something badly stinks at our club and we should all be demanding answers. With the fan disquiet and tailing off in performances last season, this was a huge summer, and the club has fucked it up to an unbelievable degree.

There's bound to be someone skimming some cash off somehow but I can't fathom the mechanics of it. If anyone knows the extent of it it's likely to be Wenger and whatever happens to him I can't for one second think he'd be allowed to spill the beans. It's all eerily reminiscant of Liverpool before they imploded which scares the living shit out of me.

I think it's as simple as concentrating on paying off the stadium debt and when the Club owns the stadium outright it's worth more. When all the shares get sold, as they will, the board will make a lot more money. They could spend £20m on a player and he turns out to be a dud and more or less worthless but £20m paid off the stadium debt is all good.

Some transparency from the board would be good. Bums on seats aren't guaranteed, so it's in their interest to keep the fan base in the loop. I mean, they were up front about the figures and projected figures about us sitting pretty back when proposing Emirates.

I don't suppose our finances are a matter of public record, other than net profit, etc?

just seen the jenkinson sending off to me it seemed really harsh.

Was the last man, took out the attacker, was on a yellow. Not harsh at all.

The penalty Rooney scored seemed a bit harsh though, perhaps equivalent to the one Walcott won.

Shite day at the office. Arshavin probably should have been sent off, the penalty was dire and all the obvious stuff. Vermaelen and Djourou look pretty good together, Djourou and Koscielny are Terrible. It's just basics (failed attempts at playing clever strikers off-side) where it becomes embarrassing.

But it's only one game that no-one was expecting to get 3 points.

This is me being optimistic.

Nah in here we have people calling him a "cunt". I've never negged a gooner in here before, even when they suggest signing Ryan Shawcross, but fuck that noise.

Don't worry guys. You'll stroll your next game :)

That would just be papering over the huge cracks though. I don't know about anyone else but I'd really like to hear a statement from the board instead them continually hiding behind Wenger and letting him take the full brunt of the fans fury. There simply has to be a reason why no major signings have happened.

We have all said some silly things today on here today but some of the things I've read on other forums have been shocking. There's actual hatred towards Wenger and a lot of the players. Whilst I feel that Wenger is doing an embarrassingly bad job of things at the moment, I think it's time for Stan Kroenke to grow some bollocks and start talking to the fans. He's a huge part of the fucking problem and we want answers. We still don't know his plans for the club!
