Steve, you've been spinning the 'we're skint' line for a few years now, but the accounts show we do have money to spend, and that was before we sold Cesc and, presumably, Nasri, both for big fees. It simply isn't correct to say the club has no money for transfers. Whether the board chooses to use it for that purpose is another matter entirely, sadly.

The fact with Mata is that once Chelsea got involved, that's it for us. With the current wage structure there's no way we can compete on salaries with United, City, and Chelsea. Until the club decides it wants to up its salary cap for the top guys, we're stuck with players they don't want.

It could just be someone putting 2 and 2 together and coming up with 57, but there's nothing in that article that sounds too far fetched. Wenger isn't an idiot, but those left on our board tend to be.

Depending on who you speak to at the club, some claim the board are refusing to stump up any cash because of Silent Stan. The board are just as confused as the fans with what he wants to do & the board are not putting forward any funds until things are sorted. One thing that isn't a rumour is the the club is in a mess and the board are far from united. The other issue is that the board are hiding behind Wenger and letting him take the full force of fans & media frustration.

Kroenke isn't really enduring himself to the fans at the moment because his actions are actually hurting the club. I personally believe he's acting like a complete cunt because he can't get the 100% he wants. I don't believe he will be fully involved in the club until he gets to his stake to the magic 100%.

So Mourinho sticks his fingers in the eyes of the opposition and gets nothing. Wenger skirts the legal boundaries and gets two games.

A beautiful game being run by fucking halfwits. No, that's an insult to halfwits.

Clubs & Football Associations really need to use the power they have and break away from UEFA & FIFA. They are ruining the game.

Aren't a whole bunch of the 'big clubs' up for renewing a contract with FIFA or UEFA in 2014? I don't really understand it myself, but I read there was the potential for the big clubs to pull away and make a shitload of cash in the process.

Anyway, apparently the Mourinho 'thing' was under the jurisdiction of the Spanish Football league, so UEFA have nothing to do with it. Still reeks of poo, though.

I'd really like to see Wilshire have a good season and carry on improving. He's great to watch; we've got a quality young English centre mid who seems like he's got his head screwed on - and importantly he may one day displace Lampard who just faffs about for England doing little.

There's a completely infuriating interview with some guy on 5Live right now about Mata. He's talking about how amazing he is and will be in the PL. He's talking about how we could have had him for €25m, how Mata actually expected the deal to go through in July and was really confused when it fell through, and how he's earning less than €1m a year in Spain and would have fit into Arsenal's wage structure really easily.

Fuck Arsenal for fucking this up.

Oh, I'm not serial with my suggestion of signing Elano. Thems is just jokes. I have a irrational love for that man after the performance he turned in for me in football manager...2007 I think. 52 goals in all competitions.

Arsenal have dropped a clanger with this one. Very shoddy management at the club to blame for letting this one slip through. He'll probably score against us just to add insult to injury.

People have to seriously start re-questioning the ambition of the club when they are not signing players like this.
