I guess i've had a few hours to calm down but the fact remains we need real strengthening. It's a massive shame that some of these kids were making their debuts in such a big game and i wonder if wenger planned to rush them into the team so soon or if he was forced due to injuries ans suspensions. I really hope we sign some big players this week, i'm holding on to the hope that if we do qualify for the chapions league, 3players will be signed before our trip to old trafford. Heres hoping...

From my understanding after chatting to people who know stuff, no ones coming in this week, so I am just going to hope something amazing happens. And the guy from Valencia who we could have signed for a bargain fee is set to join Chelsea for around £24m. Great.

What is going on is quite amazing really.

Players dropping like flies, red cards, FA & UEFA charges, players leaving, others wanting to leave, others we want to go but no one will have them and still no signings for now.

OK, Gervinho was bought to play now but surely Ryo, AOC, Jenkinson & Campell were bought for the future or at best to be slowly integrated into the 1st team throughout the season. Did anyone see Campell walking into the stadium on Sky today? He really did look 15 years old.

I cannot work out what AW is actually doing. Is there more to it that we just don't know about? or is he really shit in the transfer market, or is he just being made to wait for signings if/after we qualify for the CL.

In the meantime we lose to Liverpool, draw with Newcastle and never really look like winning, hope we somehow scrape past Udinese and actually get into the CL. As for the UTD game next week, it could well be embarrasing.

I suppose the best we can now hope for, is qualifying for the CL and maybe AW will then come to his senses and buy a few 1st teamers.

As for the league, yeah nothing is won in August but it's gonna take a hell of a recovery to come back from losing your first home game and being booed off the pitch, then lets just assume for now that we take a beating from Utd and probably not even scoring a goal in any of these games in the process.

The youngsters all look good but this must be killing their confidence.

Well i hope your wrong because we are in real trouble otherwise. It's horrible watching other teams strengthen all summer while your club sets about weakening the squad considerably. :(

We looked poor today, not too bad at the back given who was missing and certainly better than when Almunia, Squillaci and Eboue were cocking things up at the end of last year. I though that some of the new players like Fringpong and Jenkinson didn't look too bad after they settled down. We just had nothing going forward, Arshavin obviously has talent but just doesn't seem to fit with our way of playing and does not work in the position he is in and the less said about Walcott the better. I hope we can qualify for the Champions League on Wednesday and splash some cash on a couple of attacking players (especially if Nasri goes).

Have to say for all our problems I be more worried if I were a Liverpool fan, they looked very poor apart from Suarez and they have spent 100 million on players!

Don't be such a cunt all the time, have a day off. You're a deliberate blight on this forum, you offer nothing.

It's difficult to take anyone seriously when they seem so upset that a joke towards a famous multimillionaire who simply wouldnt be bothered - would cause them to be so disrespectful towards others.

Perhaps youre another one who disagrees that you need less kids, more proven class, and some leaders?

Certainly worthy calling me the C word for that. Classy.

Personally I find the Arsenal fans the most level headed and down to earth of any of the big clubs; you guys aren't blind to the problems, so why the issue if a non Arsenal fan is calling it.

I bet you'd take all our signings from January onwards, and throw in Meireles too.

Yeah, but you must know what you're like. You do behave like a twit, on purpose. Really, give us all a break mate. You sap my energy with your complete lack of discretion. I'm a bit fed up with it to be honest. Really, when people have got on your back in the past I've felt a bit sad and +1 you and stuff but enough is enough.

Where you lost to.. Northampton?

Wish I could be bothered to dig that quote of you telling me to get out of your thread.

I don't know why you reply to him, we don't.

Also Liverpool weren't exactly great today either. Until frimpong got sent off and Suarez came on they offered very little going forward.

Looks to me the whole team is going to hinge on Suarez being on form.

Team look better with best player shocker! But seriously, we have a completely revamped squad. Our midfield has too many new players for us to be truly commanding and as such our service isn't going to be brilliant for the likes of Carroll. Suarez just makes things happen no matter what, he'll be crucial this season but as it progresses you'll see us relying on him less and less.

As opposed to them relying on a disinterested cunt who is now gone and an injury waiting to happen for the past 4 years!

I think you should expect that until you qualified for the champions league. Until Arsenal are guaranteed champions league football, not many players who are going to make the team better are going to want to join them. The Udinese game is really make or break for your season. Hazard has been linked, and he'd be a good signing.

Still think you need a striker too. If RVP is injured, then you got no decent cover. Chamakh has been useless after a decent start, and then that leaves with you Bendtner.

Nah Bendtner's off so it leaves us with Joel Campbell, 14.

Everyone has been saying we should get Hazard for years but he's hardly what we're crying out for now. We need at least one central midfielder, a striker, and either a centre back so Verm can be reserve left back, or preferably just a new left back. Or both.

Until after the Udinese game though I can't see much happening. That will dictate who we can go for.

I'm still trying hard not to get too bummed until the window has closed.

Why are you always trolling in this thread? Is it because nobody gives a shit about QPR or your QPR thread and so you post in other teams threads to feel like you're actually part of something?

It's kind of sad, in a way. You must be so lonely.

Chesney made some amazing saves today.

I thought he was excellent. Confident on crosses and didn't look unsure about anything. There was one cross he didn't get his hands to and probably should've been given a free kick, but he still managed to push it a fair distance to safety.

Maybe Wenger was right not to get a keeper!
