Have I missed this? Has someone posted this? It's pretty good.

Without casting any stones, making any judgement or anything, that is superb.

Are you lot serious? Ramsey & Arshavin got injured tonight?

Let's hope the Udi game is called off next week.

Oh God.

But, to be fair, injuries and blah fucking blah. What can you do? When you're near the top of the world football rich list? You've got no room for manoeuvre, transfers are hard YOU MUST UNDERSTAND ZIS! Nothing happens til then end of the window, NOTHING. Only then can you hoover up the crap on the cheap.

*list of successful transfers conducted so far*

Imagine if we go out.

Arshavin out though, every cloud..

Why has it taken nearly the entire transfer window for Arsenal to lose their best two players - and then have a few days to find possible replacements?

Worse, now everyone knows they may want to bring in players before the window shuts, so prices may well be inflated too.

Are you guys just doing your transfer window end of business like you do your end of season business?

Why has it taken the entire window for Barca to make an offer that Arsenal accept? Or should Arsenal have just accepted anything?

And Arsenal hoped to keep Nasri, until it was absolutely clear he wasn't ever gonna sign a contract (and Man City were willing to pay silly money).

Transfer window goes to the end of the month, though I am surprised they haven't signed a centreback and some competition for Song. I'm also surprised they didn't bite City's hand off as soon as they offered over £20m for Nasri, but I can see why they've dug their heels in with Fabregas, as the reported fee is shocking. They've only managed to get him for so little because the player was unsettled. They've got about three weeks to use that cash, anyway.

Scott Dann? Is this good? I don't even know anymore.

List of things I know about Scott Dann:

He was good for the first half of last season.

He was injured for the second half last season and that helped his team get relegated.

The ideal Arsenal signing.

With those deals going through we'll have the best part of £90m liquid cash to spend. I reckon Wenger is not going to be allowed to spend even a third of that. Even if he was, it's taken all summer to buy a three players. All of whom would have crawled over broken glass to join the club.

Because the club is being run like a family business - they have been holding out to get the most money. Reinvesting the money has never been a top priority.

It's a fucking disaster.

I like Scott Dann. Roger Johnson always got way too much credit in that partnership at Brum. Plus he captained Cov when he was about 12 under Chrissy Coleman which Is always a good sign (unless your surname is Reo Coker who captained fucking everyone for ever before turning shit).

The news of Jose Enrique being pretty certain to sign for Liverpool is a bit of a blow though. I would have loved him.

Dann would be a good signing, even if it just meant Squillaci could leave or be pushed as far away from the first team as possible. Apparently Liverpool is his preferred destination though and they're desperate for a centre half. It's a shame about Enrique though as the fee is great value. I suppose that means we really are pushing ahead with Gibbs as our first choice left back - a man who can't put his pants on without breaking his tibia.

We can't just go out and buy players like Jose Enrique. Buying players isn't like a supermarket, you can't just see who you want and buy them, the transfer market doesn't work like that, it takes time and you have to see that players are available and wait for the other team to find replacements and the transfer market is hard and it's not very easy to make signings because there are so many variables and everything takes time to arrange.

Of course, it seems to perfectly easy for Liverpool.

I can't wait for the season to start. The "we're doomed" and "everything's fine" brigades have got even further apart and I can't wait to see who is right.

I don't mean in this thread, Arsenal fans in general.

Whoever (is) win(ning)s (at half-time) we lose.

or something

You could fit a Rizla between the opinion divide in this thread compared to some places on the internet at the moment. It's pretty gloomy right now, but to listen to some people you'd think Peter Hill-Wood had just hung a closed sign up over the front door and phoned the league up to say we're short on numbers, we might be back next season if we can drum up some interest.

I'm pretty down about things as they stand. Not because I think we're going to be totally shit, but rather the bone crushing predictability that we're just not good enough to win the league. It's just difficult to get too enthused about it all really and that's the first time I could ever say that in the last 20 years.

I am not sure there is an "everything's fine" brigade is there?

The spectrum goes from tense pessimism to total abandon and desolation.

I personally feel something good has to happen soon as otherwise we are going to begin a season on the verge of revolt before we've even played a game and the management must know that.

I veer erratically between the two at a horrendous rate at the moment. Udinese is a bit terrifying, Mata seems to have gone silent, Bendtner leaving but staying in the Premiership seems more likely and Fabregas and Nasri both seem to be going.

But equally, there are some very exciting things around the team anyway. Up front there is a lot of pressure on RVP to stay fit, but Gervinho seems to be a great signing and Walcott might be allowed into the middle more...Ramsey and Wilshere are good enough to take the edge of Fabregas and Nasri leaving, and Diaby and Denilson being unselectable has to secure us a few points.

I don't know.

Just so fucking tense though isn't it.

I thought I'd want Fabregas to succeed at Barca when the time came, but now we seem to be on the verge I am surprised to find myself hoping that he warms the bench for three seasons before Tiago takes his place in the squad.
