All of our captains have an impossible benchmark.

Which is the truth. TA, right?

Diaby is going to be AMAZING this season.

:D

He can go and do one.

Just playing to the crowds Steve-O.

I actually can't see him getting too many games if Ramsey's pre-season was anything to go by - he looked magic.

And this is true too. I think I'd have Ramsey on my shirt if I was going to buy one. Terrific talent and terrific kid.

Terrific is a fucking weird word.

The pack arrived today:

Sorry for the shitty phone pic.

There's a yearbook, a season ticket wallet, a fixture card, Herbert Chapman book and a DVD advertising the Arsenal player. Oh and a badge with the new crest.

It won't get any better than the Michael Thomas bottle opener. They peaked too soon.

Fucking hell! I've kept all my 'packs', season ticket covers, a TON of programmes and give away flags and tees. My missus is utterly bemused by it all. My signed Tony painting is still waiting to be put up in MY home office and the Highbury commemorative painting, well, the best hope for that is the upstairs bog. I'd settle for that, I'd actually like that.

True, but TV would be a much saner choice than RVP. I don't have a problem if RVP is a vice captain...

I did post earlier saying i would prefer TV as captain but the likelyhood is RVP will get it because he has been around longer and is vice captain now (not really the right reasons though)

Best thing I own is a bit of the Highbury turf and the little plaque that came with it.

I usually sling the "packs". They are mostly full of shit anyway. I'd rather the club just knock a tenner off the season ticket instead of sending me that rubbish.

I keep every single programme though. I have each season in it's own box in the loft dating back to the early 90's.

We should stop fucking about with the captains armband, stop passing it around like a hooker at a stag do and give it to the best actual captain not just someone who we don't want to leave or someone who's been around a while.

Nothing at all against RVP, top top player, but it's blatantly obvious that TV should be captain and yeah RVP should be vice.

Simples.

I understand the justification for a defender being captain but it's also about off the pitch. I say RvP cos he's class and tells it as it is, and even if he was injured, which he will be, he'd at least fucking turn up. So would TV, to be fair, he'd be my second choice. RvP is Dutch though and that's the best.

'Next Season's Action'. Do you mind watching it and telling me how we get on?

Well that's Ramsey with some sort of hamstring injury then. My enthusiasm is being stretched now.

Aaron Ramsey was withdrawn by Wales manager Gary Speed after 45 minutes as a precaution after a reported calf strain. The Welsh lost 2-1 to Australia in the game in Cardiff. The Welsh captain told the media post match he hopes to be fit to face Newcastle on Saturday.
