Arsenal

He's very good, young and will get better, probably, but there were always rumours about him being a bit disruptive and he is prone to spells of doing not very much. I agree he's replaceable but we would need to replace him like for like and not take on some cheap alternative. I'm fed up with big transfer fees coming in and not getting spent on proper quality.

Am I the only one who thinks you are going to hump Udine? Lost their three best players, di Natale another year older, not much come in over the summer. Decent draw for you lot, would rather play them than Rubin.

Arsenal will probably be without Nasri, Fabregas, Van Persie and maybe even Wilshere, and then whoever else gets injured. That's at least three we're without, not much come in over the summer, etc.

Sadly, yes. Unless the squad have achieved an almighty U turn in mental attitude and application over the summer break and done some basic defensive work in training (which recent friendly results suggest hasn't been the case unless you think a move to zonal marking corners is an improvement). Frankly, we couln't find a hurdle low enough to get over from last February onwards and now we have injuries or suspensions affecting RVP, Wilshire, Walcott to name but a few. It's going to be tough in both the league and the qualifier.

Di Natale might be a year older but I have a feeling with our defence being in the state it is that we're just going to stick our arse in the air and let him have a good old go on it anytime he wants. I'm totally shitting it as the consequences of watching us at 5pm on Channel 5 every Thursday are too awful to even contemplate. It's a worthless, season destroying pot that no-one wants to win. Can you imagine.

They've basically lost the spine of their team with Inler, Sanchez and Zapata all leaving. They've bought in some South American no marks as usual, but I can't see them being anywhere near the side they were last year. Even missing a few players I would fancy Arsenal to go through comfortably. Udine looked lightweight last season anyway, and without Zapata and Inler there to provide the steel, I can see you going right through them.

Man, we really need some positive stuff to happen before the season starts because if we go into our first game with this kind of malaise around the club and fans things are going to go fucking badly, fucking quickly.

They've fallen comfortably back into this routine of playing well for 60 minutes and getting a lead before starting to coast and then throwing the result away.

You can get 14-1 on Arsenal leading Benfica at half time and the game ending in a draw. It's tempting.

We've had the players available to play two up top all of last season and didn't even when we were chasing games or trying to pump some fodder at home. I'm not holding my breath we'll start now we've signed Gervinho.

Sure you had Chamakh but aside from the first few games he played it wasn't very effective with Persie, Cham just goes missing.

Gibbs!

Shweet!

I thought so.. but you lot were saying he was injured. He's in my fantasy league team :)

But to be fair to him, he was completely misused by Wenger.

He probably will be soon! Even though we lost im not going to read too much into it as the team that came out for the second half was full of fringe players. Though we still definately need to sign at least two players i can't see us signing any. On the plus side Gervinho looked good again, he has a little bit of swagger about him which reminds me of a certain Henry and if he can have half the career with us that Henry had then i'll be very happy. More than anything we really need to sort out the futures of Fabregas and Nasri, we need to be looking to sell Nasri as i really can't see what good it is doig him being at the club when he clearly doesn't wanna be there.

I can't see how playing him behind two target men will help him much.

Sorry, I suppose I kind of did that upside down. I wasn't agreeing that Gervinho or RVP should be the target men. I meant those two as wide forwards off of Chamakh.
