What is Arsenal fans' (I'm not one, but interested to see what you think) opinion of Arshavin? A good buy?

Yes.

Need more like him and less 12 year olds.

To Fox: You've made a mistake - You've accidentaly kept Diaby in your squad.

He always seems a bit of a luxury. I wouldn't call him a bad signing by any means, but I don't think he's earned that many points this season.

One thing I can never totally understand is all clubs always have a goalkeeper coach but never a coach from any other position. Why???

We had Keown coaching the defence for a bit a few years back when we got to the final of the CL and that worked extremely well. We've still got the record for the most successive clean sheets in the CL haven't we? (done at the time he was doing the coaching - coincidence?), 11 or 12 or something ridiculous like that I think.

We should definitely have a defence coach again - Keown. Enough said.

midfielder coach (not the greatest player ever but Parlour could teach some of these mugs a thing or two about giving 100%)

striker coach (probably too busy with tv work and stuff but Wrighty could teach a fair few at the club that when you get sight of goal shooting isn't such a bad option)

I think the jury is still out, to an extent. As with a lot of mercurial players, he has a tendency to vanish, and can often look like he doesn't give a shit. He's fantastically talented of course and on his day he's truly brilliant. I'd just like it if he stopped whining about how shit London is (is it really that much worse than fucking St Petersburg?!) and knuckled down a bit.

Has he been been talking up ManU then? (like Chamakh with us)

I don't think so, no, but Man Utd makes more sense. If we assume he's leaving CSKA then it's definitely going to be in January on a free. Man Utd have got VDS signed on for another season so can afford to wait. No other major European club is likely to be on the lookout for a first choice goalkeeper this summer AFAIK, save for us, United, and maybe Bayern? So given that United can happily wait till January knowing that VDS and Kuzcak will do fine in the mean time (assuming here they will try and sell Foster), whereas we have a choice of two bumbling clowns to tide us over, I'd say it's more likely that we'll be after someone in the summer window rather than next winter.

Eh well it's not really a 'wish list' squad, otherwise I'd be replacing a whole load more 'six out of ten' chuff. But I tried to keep it within the realms of genuine possibility.

As for Diaby, he's got 'Eboue 08/09 syndrome' I think, where he's frustratingly inconsistent and often looks like he doesn't give a fuck. Wigan was the culmination of a series of turgid performances from him. It's annoying because he's a talented footballer, and prior to his recent bad patch had actually been looking quite good. He could still turn out to be a good player but he needs a fucking rocket up his arse quicksmart because he's had plenty long enough to get over his injury now, and Wenger has given him a fuckload of chances.

More baseless transfer tittle tattle: Clichy to Barcelona.

"It is thought that if the Catalan club were to offer in the region of £10m Arsenal would be prepared to do business."

Oh fuck right off. Yuri Zhirkov went for £18m ffs and Clichy is better than him. If Gibbs is fit and we can plough a £15m+ bid straight back into the squad then maybe it'd be ok to let him go. But £10m is bullshit.

Good job it was probably all made up on the journo's coffee break eh!

Probably just spelt "Cesc" wrong.

I assume it's because the keeper is such a specialised position - it's far more difficult to play out-of-position between the posts than any other position, usually. That said, I can see the merits in having ex-greats coaching other areas too.

I thought all teams had strike training? Every other kind of training most probably applies to players in multiple positions, I'm not sure what a 'midfield trainer' would do.

Teach people like Diaby how to pass to the people with the same top on as you for a start.

I've voiced my opinion on that a number of times. He needs to be coached in the basics before it's too late. Ability wise it's all there but his decision making, positional sense etc. is shocking. But Wenger isn't the coach you want to teach you the ugly basics of the game, I suppose.

The table below represents the clubs per season net spend on purchasing players from the beginning of the Premiership season 1992/93 to date.

Purchases is the total spent on buying players, sold is the total received from the sale players and net is Purchased minus sold giving a total of the money spend on players.

So far in the 2009/10 season, Arsenal have made a £31,000,000 net profit from the sales of Emmanuel Adebayor and Kolo Toure to Manchester City.

I just had a dream last night that we coulddn't stop conceding injury time equalizers. It happened in every single one of our final games this season.

When we play blackburn Gamst Penderson will score in the 92nd minute from outside the box to level the game at one all. Guess what? The keeper will be to blame.

I don't know, is that like dreaming Denilson will play a whole game where he only passes the ball backward or to the side?

Not very prophetic, is it?

Anyway, with my college exams staring today I'm kind of happy our deceptive "title challage" is over. I couldn't handle the false hope at the same time as all this study\exam shit. Still, I really hope we hop off these city fucks, you know, after the last game. You know the one, where one of our ex players was an absoulte class act throughout? Ah, what a gent that Ade can be.

Arsenal youngster Jack Wilshere is hoping to force his way into the starting line-up when he returns from his loan spell at Bolton.

So, with Theo seemingly not up to it at all, Arshavin picking his games and never really giving 100%, Rosicky and Nasri only having OK seasons in spells despite coming back from injuries would you stick with them or go with Wilshere as a tiny bit of a wild card but who's shown spirit, bollocks and class at Bolton recently?

I think I'd bring him back and stick him in. I think he's ready and he'll end up getting pissed off otherwise, I want him to be in love with the Club. I don't want him to be the next Bentley or Anelka. I always saw Wilshere as the Fabregas replacement, in that forward/midfield role Wenger has built our formation around. There's no reason they can't play together though. I think Wilshere can turn the games we've fallen short in this season.

I think Wilshere will be at Bolton again till January, but I guess it all depends on who stays and who goes in the summer. There's been speculation of Rosicky and Arshavin departing, so who knows. As for being Cesc's heir, I think Ramsey fits the bill more aptly, personally.

As for today, Van Persie is starting, Adebayor is on the bench. Vieira starts. :(

It's the overplaying and lack of shooting that utterly grates. I mean, it's actually incredible at times. If it's on Arsene's instruction then he's a muppet, if the players just do it he needs to kick it out of them immediately. It's been a running joke across football for about five years.

Fact:

Before the games this weekend, we'd scored more goals from outside the box than any other team. In fact, in scoring 10, we'd scored twice as many as the next team, Man City.
