Got your left and right round the wrong way there Rev. :/

Chamakh should be able to play the lone striker role better than Bendtner or Van Persie. He certainly has all the necessary attributes, although admittedly he's normally paired with Cavenaghi for Bordeaux.

I'd say that Chamakh has spent more time playing as a lone striker than he has playing with a partner. Cavenaghi hasn't played much this season and Chamakh has spent most of his time leading the line with Gourcuff playing behind him.

THEY'RE COMPLICATED.

That's good. I've never seen him play.

In that case, the two formations (with, perhaps, left-sided players on the left etc.) then Chamakh can always lead the line when there is only one forward playing, Bendtner and Eduardo/Van Persie when there are two.

Of the current fist team I think I'd only like to see Almunia replaced (if we keep Gallas that is). Seems like the issue this season has been that our 2nd string players haven't been good enough when the first choice players have been injured (so that's most of the season then!).

Hopefully adding Chamakh up front will improve things for when Van Persie is out. I would also like to see an experienced DM bought in, my heart just sinks when I hear Song is out and Denilson is playing. Plus another Center Back to replace Silvestre.

It seems likely that we'll stick with 4-3-3, with Song/Diaby behind Cesc in the middle and Arsahvin/Van Persie/Nasri up front. Love to see us switch to 4-4-2 with Arshavin in the Bergkamp role but don't think that's likely.

Hasn't the new formation been pretty good for us though this season?

We have challenged longer in the PL race (and are still not out of it). We have been winning more of the games we should be winning against the so called lesser teams. We have been found wanting against the bigger boys but looking at those games, we played very well at OT and had enough of the possesion in the other matches. We've had some hiccups like Sunderland and Spurs but so has everyone else. Its worth bearing in mind that the PL is arguably tougher this season. Maybe all Asene needs is a better plan B.

We really should tie up 3rd today no excuses with the greatest of respect to Wigan and taking into account the injuries. If Arsene wants to convince us that we are indeed improving and considering there is still all to play for, the players should be up for it. It'll be interesting to see how the Diaby's and Rosicky's of the team apply themselves today after being so disappointing in the last 4-5 matches. I'll like to see a lot more bad boy from Bendtner as well. His recent goal-scoring record is impressive but he is so bloody casual a lot of the time.

Is anybody else a bit underwhelmed by the arrival of Chamakh? Yes, it has been dragging on for ages but it's more the fact that he just looks like a wanker. The haircut is a fucking shocker too:

If he can find the onion bag I couldn't give a fuck what he looks like.

No, not at all. I think he's going to awesome for us...sure he looks like a tit but I'm sure we'll all get over that once he starts banging in the double hat-tricks for us. Yeah, that's right, DOUBLE hat-tricks. OF GOALS.

And sometimes assits.

Agreed about the 'Plan B' -- we need a bit more tactical flexibility I think when we're turning out against the big teams.

I don't agree with you about the state of the league though -- this has been the weakest season in a long time. Man Utd and Liverpool have regressed since last season with the loss of key players that were not replaced. Chelsea have gotten another year older and at times (such as yesterday) it shows. They also miss Essien a hell of a lot and he's been out most of the season. The rest of the teams have stayed much the same apart from Man City and Spurs, who have improved but are both still a long way of winning the league. And we've improved as well of course, but we're still falling short even in this weakened league.

The top 10 are all capable of taking points off of each other.

Interesting interview with Arsene there. Seems as though Almunia's number could be up and he is asking Fabianski to prove he is good enough to be number 1 next season.

Yup - if Almunia's not content as second choice then I think it's bye bye.

Fabianski looked really dodgy there on the corner - should've been his ball, left it.. not good.
