A few things: That was really horrible to watch. Eduardo is finished at this level sadly.

Not a chance-he hasn't started a game in 3 months and isn't a 'lone' striker.

Games is what he needs and time. He's no where near finished.

I'd love to be wrong about this but

i) Arsenal aren't gonna start playing 2 up top

ii) They're gonna sign another striker who can play in the middle in the summer

I agree that he needs games and time, but he's not gonna be the striker he was pre injury and he's not gonna make it at Arsenal. IMO of course - as I say, I'd love to be proven wrong.

God damn it, Nicky, why'd you have to score. Despair I can live with, it's HOPE that's killing me.

I feel ya, buba. I was resign to us being out and now, well, I'm back to thinking we might, just might, have a chance.

Argh...I don't think I can handle it!

The boy had the mouth, but now he is trying on the trousers. AND THEY FUCKING FIT, SNUG AROUND THE BOLLOCKS.

Also, I want to cuddle Eduardo and make him awesome again. And Arseblog's injury descriptions of Vela (Kidnapped by Monkeys) and Almunia (broken heart) were pure lol.

And there is only one team from North London who are going to have their pants pulled down by an ex-striker this week, AMIRITE o/

I loved the mania on the bench when we scored, pure love from all the big dogs. Wenger & Eboue on the double hi-five? I'll have some of that.

I'm drunk btw....

...ON THE GOONER LOVE, PSYCHE!

I disagree, he's finished. He looks quite pathetic on the pitch. It's unbelievable that he was given a long new contract. As harsh as it sounds, he should have been allowed to leave at the end of the season. We are now paying a 'goal scorer' who doesn't score goals a lot of money for the next few years. Money should have been spent elsewhere. Shocking decision to keep him on...

The stadium erupted when that went in. 90 minutes of frustration coming out all thanks to Mr Fuck Yea.

Yes, I am normally quite calm but like everyone else, I couldn't help but jump around look a loon for 30 seconds or so when the goal went in.

I take enormous satisfaction from the fact that we scored in the time added on for their time wasting. If they tried to play football they may have come away with a point as we were awful. It shows what a poor manager McCarthy is. How is he given jobs in football? The blokes a clown.

Did anyone see their goalie moaning at the ref after the goal? He was going mad saying we were wasting time celebrating. He had wasted about 10 mins just taking goal kicks in the second half! What a wanker!

You obviously didn't see the West Ham - Wolves game.

Wolves do play football, Arsenal are just a much better team. You don't know what you're talking about.

Congratulations on your win guys! :(

Thirded. It's tragic really, as his career at the highest level has been ruined by that dick, but he was laughably bad yesterday. He gets in good positions, then shits himself and fluffs it when he gets the ball.

Yeah, he's been shit this season but I think the calls of his carrer being finished (with us or at the highest level) are a bit much right now. He's got next season to cop on and start scoring again. If he's still shit after that then it's time to start talking about him having to be moved on.

It does seem odd to have signed him on a new deal if we're not going to be playing two up top. He's not really suited to 4-3-3. Who knows, maybe if Chamakh comes in the summer we'll go back to 4-4-2, but then we'd have an awful lot of players competing for those front two spaces.

On his form: it just seems to be a lack of confidence, surely? He's still getting into good positions, but he's missing sitters. I don't see how missing these stupidly easy chances can be in any way related to his injury. He's just had a season blighted by niggly injuries and virtually no opportunity to get into a run of form and build up some confidence. This happens to a lot of strikers, so I think the death knells are somewhat premature and really rather harsh.

Indeed, the above description was previously applied to Nicky B, and now look at him. Eduardo is a Gooner who suffered a horrible injury wearing our shirt - we should be behind him all of the way. This club is better than some of the above comments suggest. Look at our boy Eboue in the picture above, knee-sliding onto the pitch he was booed off of previously with pure joy written all over him. That's what good support can give to a player.

Not by me! I've always liked king billy big bollocks. He might be one paced, but he can actually play a bit and has some footballing intelligence.

I was right about Adebayor.

Having a different opinion doesn't make anyone less of a supporter. Isn't the best thing about football that it's a game of opinion?

FYI I always stand up and sing in support at every game I go to. I imagine it's unlikely that Eduardo will read my comments here and get upset.

As for Eboue what he has actually done? Yeah, he's got pace, but he can't tackle, scores very little, doesn't make much by way of assists, is frankly embarassing when he feigns injury and judging by Saturday's game doesn't track back either. When do you recall coming away from a match and thinking that he's really played a stormer?

Man the way players are completely dismissed as shit or finished in this thread etc is ridiculous.

Wenger has said on a number of times that Eduardo has been suffering from complications from his leg break. The leg he broke in an Arsenal shirt, the leg he broke in his first season at Arsenal when he still managed to get 12 goals in 31 appearances (wiki stats - don't hate - needed an illustration) even before he had got used to the pace of the league. Surely you haven't forgotten how excited you were when you saw how clinical his finishing was having endured a season where we couldn't get a shot out for love nor money? I seem to remember Andy Gray saying something along the lines of "Wow, this guy just does not miss" as Eduardo slotted that goal past Kiraly against Burnley in the FA cup for his 6th goal in 4 games.

I am the first to admit that he looks to have lost a bit of pace and that his touch is not quite there, nor has he shown that instinctive finishing that we bought him for, but that doesn't mean I am going to decide, based on zero medical knowledge and a few cameo appearances, that he is going to be shit forever and that we should sell him. I am not trying to be a provocative, but I think that is a real disloyal, fairweather, and for want of a better word, cunty stance to take. Is that really all the chance you are going to give him?

The calf (?) injury this season came at a terrible time for him because he was beginning to look a lot sharper around January time when Bendtner was out and we had Arshavin struggling in the central striker role and I was genuinely excited about seeing the little man play more games.

Eduardo has scored goals with incredible frequency for club and country throughout his career and if the Arsenal management along with the Arsenal medical team, who see him training ground and on the physio table every day, decide that he is going to be able to do the same again for us, then that is more than good enough for me. Hopefully that will be in the run-in this season, but if he needs a good pre-season in him before he gets back to his old form then so be it.

Are you serious? He has been absolutely standout his season. I can think of a load of games where he has "played a stormer".

I don't how you can say he can't tackle either. That's just crazy, name me 3 players who play that kind of wide role and can have anywhere near equivilent defensive ability? Milner is half decent I guess, but he plays in the centre now. Park possibly, but again his role at Man U is completely different (CLOGGY!).

eboue, this season, has done nothing less than play FOR the shirt on his back.
