I'm not sure how going from England hattrick hero and World Cup certainty to Championship loanee would help his confidence. I think it would be embarrassing even if he does well. I just think he needs some decent coaching, telling where he should be and when etc. I don't think the way we play particularly suits him, but over time he's going to have to overcome that one way or another. And maybe the hairdryer treatment would be of benefit sometimes, not just Theo but across the whole team.

Tricky one.

Gotta be Song, Diaby & Nasri, with Arshavin and Bendtner up front. Not quite sure if I would go with Theo or Rosicky for the final place. Maybe Rosicky. Theo could be usefull off the bench if needed.

The defence could also be interesting. Surely Campbell will start in place of Silvestre, how about at RB? Eboue or Sagna?

Sagna probably?

Seems Gallas has had a setback after we tried to bring him back a bit too quickly.

On the plus side when he comes back he'll be fresh for the run in. The downside is that if TV or Sol get injured we are absolutely cunted. Although Djourou is pencilled in to return before the season ends apparently.

Bare bones, just the way we like it.

Interesting little blog on Wojciech Szczesny, our Polish keeper on loan at Brentford who is playing quite well it seems.

His name does keep cropping up. Arsene might as well stick him in as number one next season, to be honest. He absolutely cannot be worse than what we've seen this season.

On tonight, Nasri must start centrally. I think he's much better centrally than out wide and he's the most natural replacement for Cesc. I suppose it's Arshavin, Bender and Walcott or Rosicky up top, Song and Diaby with Nasri in the middle. When you boil it all down, we really should go through tonight. Majorly disappointing if we go out to an average Porto.

Considering the absolutely shocking goals we conceeded away it would be a real shame. I just worry if they score first we could be in trouble.

Read somewhere earlier that AW said Arshavin isn't 100% fit yet and can't play 90 minutes.

Wonder if he's gonna start tonight. Got to surely.

It's probably him or Rosicky and I think Rosicky is a much better substitute. I'd start with Theo, Bendtner and Arshavin.

I'd actually like us to get knocked out tonight. Our squad's thin as it is, and certainly doesn't have the depth to challenge for two trophies. I think an extended run in the CL would distract us from the league at a time when we can't afford ANY slip-ups - surely the title challenge has to be the priority?

Besides, we'd get absolutely bummed by a decent team (Barcelona, United, Chelsea etc) over two legs.

I'd be tempted to start with Rosicky, Bendtner and Arshavin, and have Theo on the bench.

Season after season we get knocked out of a competition and it all goes downhill on all fronts. I hear what you're saying but I'd rather we won.

If Arsenal win the league, all we'll hear is how they don't deserve it because United and Chelsea battered them. Won the league beating shitty teams. At least going through tonight would give them a chance to earn a bit of respectability as far as that goes.

Or they'd get beaten again in which case, why not go out a round later?
