The kit is no better or worse then most recent efforts. At least it's yellow. The neck looks a bit snug though.

On the subject of the clock and the stadium plans, good news. We need that clock, it's part of our history and is clearly seen as part of the Arsenalisation of the Emirates.

I did read a piece about when Real came over for the Emirates Cup, apparently they were massively impressed with the stadium, the way the Club is run and the whole organisation and hospitality. This has been said for years and years though, foreign Clubs visiting to see how we operate. Just a random snippet of info there!

Didn't Real also like the pitch so much they nicked the groundsman?

I'm just saying.

Anyway, apparently he's spoken to Ramsey and it's all cleared up, no hard feelings. I say apparently cos Eduardo couldn't remember the visit Taylor claims he made :) . But it's in the past now and hopefully Ramsey can go on to become amazing. I also read an otherwise meaningless piece from a guy who did the same at 16. He said he never really looked down at the injury and in terms of making a mental recovery it was the best thing he could have done. If Whelan made sure Ramsey didn't look at it, as has been suggested, then even more props to him.

I haven't said this as it seemed irrelevant, but Ramsey's awesome, isn't he? He might not have blossomed at 16 like Rooney or Cesc but he's so complete as a player that he can be world class.

Aaron Ramsey will come back and be fine. Eduardo has shown that and I'm pretty certain what kind of rehab he'll be doing.

My brother had a similar leg break to Ramsey, only closer to his ankle. He's got about a dozen screws as well as two metal plates put in that'll be there for life. My brother was back walking after about 8 weeks. He's now doing light training after 3 and a half months. Ramsey's recovery will be quicker than many will expect.

Collymore is a wank-rag of a man and it should go without saying that anything that comes out of his mouth can be safely disregarded. All of this Wenger hoopla reminds me of the 'beyond the pale' shite certain people were peddling about Rafa when he made those oh so naughty hand gestures in the presence of our beloved, sacred, saint Allardyce. The situations are obviously incomparable but the message is the same: We don't like you foreign deviants.

Google seems to suggest it was just his foot.

Something about Wenger over-reacting, here and Diaby being no better, here.

Exactly. If one of our players done something naughty once, which is completely unrelated to what we are talking about, then we have no right to moan about anything ever, even if it keeps happening. :)

Reading those quotes from that Gunnerblog post reminds me why I never listen to talksport. Or buy any papers any more. They are full of this hysterical rubbish.

Well, aside from being half the player he was and massively injury prone.

Collymore is a wank-rag of a man and it should go without saying that anything that comes out of his mouth can be safely disregarded.

Trouble is, some people do believe it. He's part of the media that encourages dangerous play and laughs in the face of foreign nancy boys.

This. Benitez and Wenger frequently get a total caning in the press. Yeah they both say and do some fucking stupid stuff sometimes, but there is still blatantly a bias against them in certain quarters. IIRC the "Beyond the pale" remark came from Ferguson initially. When you take into account that the press seem to be generally anti-Benitez, and add in the fact that most are in total thrall to Ferguson, it's no surprise that it was reported the way it was.

After the Eduardo incident, Gallas had a strop and Wenger made a daft, emotion-fuelled remark about banning Taylor for life, and they both got totally ripped into afterwards. Now these same twats are laying into Wenger again after the Ramsey thing, where he had the temerity to point out that perhaps Shawcross should, y'know, maybe take some blame for his poor challenge.

I suppose it shouldn't come as any surprise that a lot of people involved in British football are horribly xenophobic. It's still depressing as fuck though.

As an aside, it's interesting that the xenophobes seemed to kiss Mourinho's ass even more than they do with Fergie -- I guess because he knew how to pander to them and turn on the rogue-ish charm. He was never prickly with the English press in the way that Rafa and Wenger have been at times, and of course he frequently gave great soundbites.

Stole him a couple of seasons ago I think: he was named best groundsman in the world or something like that and then Real offered him some silly money. Read about it recentky, but can't recall where.

Yeah, probably. I was thinking The Football Ramble, or a 442 top 10 thing, but you're probably right.

It might not have been, there is less discussion of it than I thought there was. Ie. I'm 1/3 of it.

I liked the story on Its Up For Grabs Now that Real Madrid signed Arsenal's groundsman after they won loads of awards for the turf at the Emirates. Bet he's on a tidy sum...
That is the coolest thing ever. For that guy, obviously.
He is yeah, way way more than yer average PL groundsman and he gets to live in sunny Spain! I've heard quite a few envious grumblings about him in stadiums.

Aren't Sky or the Beeb or whoever going to enforce the contractual obligation managers have, ie to give interviews? I read that somewhere. I'm sure most managers would rather not put themselves up for ridicule in the heat of the moment and/or have some ultra pathetic axe to grind, I don't see why Ferguson should get away with it.

Wonderful stuff. That pass for the third goal was lovely. Not meaning to have too much of a pop at Gallas but what a contrast to the Birmingham game two years ago.

Don't forget though: watch Big Sol throughout that video.

Big fucking Sol. Utter legend.

Very true. I think the whole team has grown up a bit though. I've laid into them this season but Saturday showed guts and talent.

And I'm glad we had Cambell rather than Gallas on Saturday too. He was a good physical presence. I don't like him but I'm glad we signed him, we could have been right in the shit.

EDIT: Blinky beat me to it.

Abou Diaby has averted another injury crisis at Arsenal by resuming full training ahead of their clash with Burnley.

We really need him to limp through at least two consecutive games now to cover Song's ban. Hopefully he can see out the season without another problem. I also really, really hope that Arshavin watched the determination on Saturday and when he comes back he starts to look properly interested. If we stay fit and pull together the run in is going to be very interesting.

Indeed.

I've never been much of a Diaby fan, but we badly need him to get fit and stay fit and also play like he's threatened to on so many occasions but not quite delivered.

It's quite scary to even think about too much but our run in looks pretty bloody ok, we really need to have a bit of luck with injuries, players like Arshavin, Nasri, Clichy & Sagna to step up their game, Eduardo to find his shooting boots, Almunia to play a bit like a real keeper and Cesc, Vermalean & Gallas to continue being the fucking dogs bollocks.

So yeah, the run in could definitely be very very intersting.

Ryan Shawcross insists he will not let the furore over his challenge on Aaron Ramsey affect his natural game as he looks to put the incident behind him.

Shawcross has thanked those who have supported him and vowed to keep playing the game as it comes naturally.

It's ridiculous to suggest that he should stop tackling altogether or even be a man and say he maybe went in a bit strong, but he's 22 and has broken two players legs. Is it daft to think that he should reassess the way he plays? If he does it again does he still carry on playing the way it comes naturally?

Leon Cort of Burnley says: "I don't give a shit if we fuck up the entire Arsenal team, we're gonna tackle the fuck out of those pansy cunts, because we're too shite to do anything else."

Or, he may as well have.

He's a nice bloke though and he didn't mean it and he helps old ladies across the road and so on.
