I think Fabianksi is the worst keeper I have seen in 20 years watching Arsenal. He even makes Almunia look good. Our best keeper is 19 and plays for Brentford, where by all accounts he's been really good. Fuck all use to us now.

Clichy has obviously been kidnapped and replaced by a rogue replicant, as the one that's in the Arsenal team bears no resemblance to the player of 2007 and gets skinned every single game.

Denilson is fucking hopeless.

Clichy has been terrible lately.

I can't believe how shocking this ref is either.

I'm pretty sick of this season.

Innit. They're talking about what song they should get to replace that god-awful Elvis dirge that they play before games, I'm going to lobby for some Cannibal Ox.

Peter Drury reminds me of that guy Konami got in to commentate on the first few PES games. 'The sun is shining and the wind is shooting through the stadium'. Nice one Pete.

Should absolutely beat them at the Emirates though, they didn't look like they'd be able to cope at all if Arsenal just play the slightest bit better next time.

Dunno about the backpass, in the end it looked like it just flicked off Campbell's foot as he was trying to get out of the way, unintentional like, shouldn't have been given. Fabianski is a moron for picking it up though, especially when the ref's got some handballs to make amends for.

If we let demonstratably awful teams like Porto beat us like that we're fucked. There's way too many passengers and Wenger's trademark tactical naivity was laid out for all to see again. Pretty annoyed guys.

You have to wonder if he's taken it as far as he can. He can't start building a new side now. There's too many mistakes, which are forgiveable in isolation, but we never learn. The players don't learn and nor does Wenger. Anyone see the slo mo at half time of the United game yesterday? Ferguson giving Evans both barrels, foul mouth, the lot. I wish Wenger would do that. Get in Clichy's face and bollock the fuck out of him. Get some kind of fucking reaction. I'd rather they sulked or threw the shirt down and walked off rather than this persistent couldn'tgivemuchofafuck attitude. Top to bottom it's lacking. I reckon someone like O'Neill would possibly make something out of half of these but Wenger's lost them I think. It's aimless.

Bringing Eboue on at 87 and a half minutes. What a fucking insult.

Cesc has looked like that for weeks now... He can't even look at the reporter, just looks down.

Doesn't look good.

We only needed to buy one or two players, just a token 'look, we are trying' from the manager and board. Are they blind? Cesc has basically done us a favour this season. Who among us would stay?

I remember when we had good players and the worry was that if Wenger left they might all follow him. The worry nowadays is that if Wenger goes they might all stay!

Shopping list:

Two keepers.

Three defenders, minimum. Especially since our second best defender will leave cos he's over thirty and is only being offered a year.

Midfield enforcer.

Proper winger.

Centre forward. Or two.

Coaching manual with 4-4-2 highlighted in yellow every single time it's mentioned.

Certainly, i just think a few of the first team at the moment aren't worthy of being in it. Like you said we do need quite a few new players in.

It's great to suggest we have a chance of winning the CL, but if we come up against Chelsea or United we would be screwed as we can't beat them in the league, let alone in a huge CL game over two legs.

I for one think the rose tinted spectacles need to be taken off. I don't even think we'd have a chance of winning the Europa League!

With Song out Eboue should have started, no question. The 5-4-1 we had in the lead up to the final run a few years ago was built around solidarity, plus the width that Pires, Ljungberg or Reyes offered. It's no use having 5 straight across the middle with no real movement or a different dimension to show. I'm not saying we go back to the Graham/Houston away days in the Cup Winners Cup, slogging out 1-0 wins as we're clearly not capable, but tighten up a bit - don't all maraud forward at once! It's mind meltingly frustrating to see such a lack of discipline.

One thing that bothers me is that Cesc can't organise the team. He leads by example, but what does that even mean? His application is good, but when he creates some space and slides a perfect through pass, are other players supposed to think "I should be doing that"? Someone playing great doesn't drag others with him. Prophetically, I think Cesc was given the armband much like Henry was - in an attempt to make him stay a bit longer. God only knows what we'll do without him.

Also, I don't agree that Wenger has gone as far as he can go. He's gone as far as he's allowing himself to go under his system of self imposed restraint. He needs to snap out of it pronto.

The thing is, have you got the money for any of that?

I'm genuinely asking because the way I see Arsenal right now is either the club's plagued by the stadium debt and Wenger's got you punching massively above your weight by bringing in young players on a shoe-string budget a lot of Championship clubs wouldn't even envy, and still miraculously keeping the club top four. Or you're bringing in loads of ticket revenue and CL cash but Wenger refuses to sell it because he's lost it up top and somehow thinks poaching youngsters is more 'moral' than reimbursing clubs with proper transfer fees, and that Denilson is genuinely going to be better than Xabi Alonso one day. On the one hand you're absolutely blessed, on the other you can't get shot of him fast enough.

Anyone else cringe at the Wenger interview? It was pathetic. As for their second goal, we have scored a few sneaky ones like that in the past so it's unbelievable if Wenger of all people decides to complain about it.

As for our goalie situation, it's developing into a real issue. I wonder if Poom fancies a game?

I know it probably looks to other fans that we're over reacting a bit as this tie is definitely still alive, we've even got an away goal. Once we get our new signings back, sorry I mean injured players, we could beat this lot quite comfortably. I don't think we are over reacting though, we had some seriously shit and average players on the pitch tonight.

Clichy has forgotten how to play football, Diaby looked like he was improving lately but really he hasn't got a clue. Never been a fan. Not sure what Denilson, Bendtner, Theo & Vela are all about. We seem to tolerate Eboue lately, but only because he's a bit of a clown and he runs about a bit. Sagna has got to be careful he doesn't join Clichy in the 'remember when he was good' group.

That's just too many players to carry.

Nearly forgot the 'keepers. Almunia has been exposeed lately and he's playing like we all feared he could. He had a good run and blagged it for a long time really. Fabianski makes a few good saves, you know, the diving in the air goalkeeper type of saves, but he's more than capable of doing what he did for the first goal, and as for the second, that just proves that he's not up to this standard. Like Cesc said, that was just a real schoolboy error. Really really stupid. I mean he actually gave the ball to the ref so they could take the free kick while most of our players hadn't even realised what was going on let alone reacted. Surely in a situation like that you just hold onto the ball until your players are back, until a player is there to stand over the ball, until you get a yellow card even. What you definitely don't do is give the ball back before you or anyone else has even had a chance to react.

You must have something to spend if Wenger wasn't fabricating the story about inquiring after Villa. You would have to be utterly mental to think he would cost anything less than £25 million and even that is wildly optomistic. I assume you had a £7 million+ bid accepted for Smalling too.

Anyway, 2-1 isn't that bad and you really should be able to beat them by more than one goal at home.

Look.

We'll smash them at home as they're shite. A really rubbish, classic second-tire 'champions' league team but that ref is an utter, utter piece of shite. How many decisions can you get wrong in a game and how many times can he bottle a big decision? Fucking useless.

Also, as the most optimistic Arsenal fan in the world:

We have goalkeepers who will not win us titles, but rather cost them.

Clichy needs to sort himself out and quickly, otherwise he can shit off.

Denilson has had long enough. OUT.

Vela needs a run but it's not looking good.

Theo needs a run, he'll be excellent with time and so long as he's played in the right position.

Bender is excellent, but his finishing needs work.

Sol was excellent.

Eboue needs to start more games-our most direct player when he's on his game.

Need: a CB, a DMF and a proper striker.

Sorry.

And Theo is shit and will never make it in the Premier League. He's out of his depth in Europe and it's painful to watch.

I still think we'll do Porto at home but there's no way we are going to get past Man United or Chelsea when we inevitably meet one of them in the competition. They are streets ahead of us.

He wasn't serious about Villa. I can't remember the exact quote but he said it with a rye Gallic smirk on his face anyway. Wenger knows he's signed this Moroccan chap for next season and hopes that if we can eek things out again everything might be OK and with a bit more time some of these terrible players will come good.

I've no doubt that we'll batter Porto at home as they are notoriously shit on the road, but tonight and basically all of this season should have so many red flags waving and alarm bells ringing you'd think you were at some kind of illegal rave, where presumably that kind of thing goes on.

For what it's worth I thought Walcott was pretty decent when he came on. He tracked back well and provided some pace which was lacking it has to be said.
