Song was class today. We're going to miss him when he's gone, who can fill his boots?

Interestingly enough I think it may be Ramsey now that Denilson is crocked. He played at centreback when he was younger and the boy can tackle, which is more than can be said of anyone else in the squad outside the back four (oh and Rosicky, who is actually quite decent defensively, but made of balsa wood and porcelain).

The other option is Diaby, but he's not much defensively in that he is pretty mediocre in the tackle and also more than willing to give the ball away wilf nilf in the most dangerous of areas. Also I think we have really benefited from having some presence in the air further up the field in recent games and it would be a shame to sacrifice that if we could avoid it.

Nasri/Ramsey/Diaby as a midfield trio could work until Cesc gets back.

Anyone else looking forward to Eduardo getting into the swing of things a bit more so that we can get him down the middle, it's painful to watch how unsuitable Arshavin is in that role. I find it a bit odd that he doesn't try play on the shoulder of the defenders more as you would expect from a pacy little 'un, because he is just getting nothing at the moment.

Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger has made a £3.5m swoop for Fluminese's Brazilian wonder-kid Wellington Silva, who impressed on a recent trial at the Emirates, but he will not be able to join the Gunners until he turns 18 in January 2011.

HOW AWESOME WOULD THAT BE!!!111one

West Ham were fantastic for the first hour but those subs and the fact they couldn't keep up the pace they set themselves helped us turn the match.

We've got Stoke away next. Not the easiest of ties.

Indeed. Not too sure why we started with him down the centre.

Merida and Wilshere didn't have the best of games. Song was amazing again. We might miss the big fellow over the coming weeks. Here's hoping Cameroon get knocked out of the ACoN mad fast.

Wilshere had a bit of a 'mare in the first half, giving the ball away on the edge of the area. If he does end up going out on loan I think that West Ham would be a good move for him over the rest of this season.

We were awful until Nasri and Diaby came on. Merida had a complete stinker and Silvestre, to nobody's suprise, was absolutely rank.

It went fucking mental when the second went in, which was nice as I can't remember being so cold at a football match before. It was a grim old walk up to West Ham tube as well.

WHAT DID SHE WEAR?

Where was Rosicky today? I thought he was meant to be back, but he wasn't even on the bench. Hope he hasn't picked up yet another injury. He was looking pretty useful for a few weeks before his most recent injury.

Oh yeah! I forgot he was ment to be in the team today.

Occam's razor says he's injured, again.

Woooookash looked alright between the sticks didn't he?

With regard to Vela/Wilshire/Merida, they are 20, 18 and 19 respectively with minimal first team experience outside of the Carling Cup. I think people forget that Fabregas' breakthough was a exceptional rather than a benchmark to measure other players. You are going to get flashes of brilliance from these guys, but it's a little presumptious to expect consistency.

Eduardo is also definitely getting sharper which is great, hopefully he can keep it up and get back to his best. The sooner he and Arshavin switch roles the better.

PS. Diaby. Yesssssssssss.

Hey, don't get me wrong. I don't expect them to me crazy awesome all the time. I don't hold it against the kids when they play shit but, you know, I will point it out.

That's what fat, bitter, no hopers like myself do to make themselves feel better :P .

To be fair though, how many corners did Merida take that didn't get past the first defender? Was he really the best taker of corners on the pitch for us? Vela and Wilshire at least have moments when they look good, but Merida's always looked fairly pedestrian.

Ramsay had another good game. Silvestre looks like a lumbering beast compared to the rest of the team.

It's looking like the game tomorrow, our game in hand, is going to be called off. It's not confirmed yet but I fail to see it going any other way at the moment.

A bit shit that, I'd like to play them now and not after they get a new manager in.

If bolton set off now, they could be here in time for the KO, and they could always delay it by 30mins for the fans to arrive...

or start the game early to give them a chance to get home early doors.
