I didn't see the game, was out rocking to a concert performance by a beat combo, but...

Burnley away sounds like a fixture we should walk and maybe we should have, but you need to remember that Burnley have one of the best home records in the league and we only played a couple of days ago. Plus, across the season as a whole, you need to look at how others did in their respective fixtures to see where your points came from, and a score draw away to Burnley is a point more than Man Utd got.

More positives needed at the moment I think-we can't win every game and this was never an easy fixture.

It's not a terrible result, Burnley are pretty formidable at home. I'd say the big issue is the fact that Wenger has lost all faith in any of the strikers we currently own. Seems bizarre not to start Vela or Eduardo. They're low on confidence, so surely a game or two might help? What is he planning on doing, just never playing them again? Wait until Van Persie comes back? Weird.

They're just both low on confidence and playing them

in a mid week game away from home, in a cold Northern town against a miserly team isn't going to help.

There's a few issues with the team at the moment, but the lack of firing strikers isn't one for me, but that's only because the midfielders are picking up the slack.

If this was at home, it'd be an awful result, as it is, its just a shame is all, but at least it wasn't wasted as the game in hand.

I think he needs to be dropped at this stage.

I've been one to stick up for him in this thread and that's why it breaks my heart to say this but this season he has been so, so bad it's almost unreal. No confidence when coming for anything going across\coming into the box.

Fabianski isn't a instant long term solution but he needs to be between the sticks from now on.

I've said for a couple of years now that we need Akinfeev, especially as other GKs are looking pony for the bigger clubs and they're looking at him now.

I liked Almunia, but he's just never going to win you points by keeping out 12 shots a game like Given has done on many occasions.

Not that Wenger will spend any money on a keeper, he's too busy trying to bring up the kids whilst moaning about everything else.

I wish we had picked Given up this summer. Man City paid about 8.5m for him. What a bargain.

I can't understand how/why we didn't go in for him.

Years ago actually, not just when Newcastle got relegated.

Best keeper in the league?

Probably.

Porto then, not a bad draw. Think we'll do well, until we meet an English team that is.

Burnley result was poor, but not unexpected. WTF is going on with our strikers? Surely Eduardo or Vela should be starting these games? If not what is the point of having him in the squad?

The sad truth.

Neither are suited to our system, IMO. Vela is miles away, Eduardo is a poacher and not a loan striker. We absolutely need a new forward, a muscle man. As horrible as it sounds, on the pitch we could really do with Adebayor. When you look at it - Adebayor out, £25m in - Arsene's dropped a bollock. I'd spend £20m odd on a proven striker in January (easier said than done) and worry about what happens when RvP comes back at the time.
