Arsenal

We came through gate C, and were about 8 or so rows back, pretty close to the pitch. Pity Arsenal didn't score any games in the second half as the players were quite close to us there.

Really enjoyed it, although not as noisy during the midweek games as it will be versus Chelsea on Sunday.

I wish they took their shots more often instead of dithering around the goal mouth. Liege never looked in it, hardly had a shot on goal, but the ones they did fire, hit the posts!

(Doesn't quite work but...)

"WENT FOR EBOUE, YOU ONLY WENT FOR EBOUE, WENT FOR EEEEEBOOOOUEEEEEE!"

I'd rather lose both Clichy and Gibbs at the same time over either Gallas or Vermaelen at any point. Serious lack of depth to our central defensive options.

Yeah, Traore and Silvestre are pretty good cover for left-back really. Traore on if we need attacking options, Silvestre if we need defenisve cover.

Gibbs and Clichy both give both, which is why they're missed. But pick one or the other and we're fine.

I've been to so many European games like that. All it takes is one of those fuckers to go in and for the next 30 minutes all you could hear some bloke in the clock end coughing.

So the Chelsea game then.

Bit of an embarrassment wasn't it? It really was men against boys. Watching our players bounce off Chelsea players was a harsh reminder that most of our squad are a bunch of weaklings.

Chelsea didn't even have to break sweat - it was piss easy for them and that's what hurts the most.

Almunia proved yet again that he's shite. He only had to give his defence a shout for the second goal! He NEVER communicates with his defence, he has cost us many goals (and in turn points) by not barking instructions to defenders. A simple shout and Vermaelen could have left it before scooping it in to his own net.

I've no idea what Sagna was playing at. He let Cole mug him twice so although Almunia's shitness is part of the problem, Sagna's inability to be professional cost us dearly.

We looked toothless in attack. Eduardo has been rubbish all season and it's no wonder Wenger dragged him off although quite what he expected Vela to do was anyone's guess.

Yesterday was a painful reminder that we are a million miles away from where we want to be. I'd swap the pretty football to win ugly. Wenger said in an interview the other day that he doesn't plan to sign anyone in January. Yesterday proved we have learned NOTHING from last season, it proved we haven't advanced since last season and we won't until we get new players!

To be honest, I wasn't expecting a win yesterday. I know Chelsea are stronger in every area than us and I could have accepted a defeat as long as we went down fighting. But we just bent over and let them fuck us up the arse.

This.

It also makes the defeat against Sunderland seem all the more costly.

Anyway, I'm off to the citeh game on wednesday, hopefully the kids will cheer me up <_<

Standing in the pissing rain and watching my team get bum-raped by a set of cunts was not my preferred way to spend a Sunday. Still, not as bad as my old man who stumped up £92 (that's ninety-two pounds) to watch that shit from some posh seats in the upper east. It would have been cheaper to listen to the game on Clubcall whilst sobbing gently into the receiver.

What he said.

Eduardo has slotted straight in for RvP. I can't see the difference.

I'd like to know why he thought it was a good idea to take Song off for Walcott? I thought Song was playing well.

My heart broke for Tommy V when he got the OG. He looked like he was about to cry. Still, who can blame him when Gallas should have done better with the ball in.

Terrible (but not unexpected) defeat yesterday. I always think the team looks at its best when they are settled and the players have had a decent run. Of the starting 11 Traore, Nasri, Denilson & Eduardo are all either recently back from injury or haven’t had much playing time. Same for Walcott, Rosicky and Vela. I’m not trying to make excuses, but it’s no fluke that we have played our best football this season when the team has been settled with maybe one or two changes.

Completely Irrelevant, and maybe unrealistic, but no-one can fuck with my fifa team! :P

"I didn't feel we were in the need to buy anybody but we will be out on the market that is for sure now. However we will only make a decision if it suits us."

That's got to be a good sign that Wenger hasn't lost the plot and isn't insanely stubborn. As this morning's Arseblog said, I too hope he won't just be looking at the forward position.

It depends what AW really wants to do/can do this season. If he just wants to qualify for the CL and maybe maybe nick a cup then he'll just go for a striker, maybe someone cheap like Chamakh (even though he wont be able to play in the CL).

If he wants to challenge for the league, CL and FA cup, then he should buy someone like Balotelli, Yaya Toure, a keeper & a top drawer CB.

All of that is about as likely as the scum winning the league so it'll probably be the 1st option.

Whatever happened to the days when agents were paid by their fucking clients!? Leechy cunts. I'd definitely spend the £25 mill on Balotelli, he would be scarily good at Arsenal!

The thought of us signing Balotelli makes me harder than chinese algebra.

I can't see it happening though...not for the price that's been suggested.

I know Wenger doesn't usually spend big, but surely for the right candidate he'd consider it. My worry is that if Mourinho is doing the pricing, it definitely won't be 30million Euros in the end, unless he's fallen out with the kid or something!!??

I'd like Balotelli at arsenal but i don't see it as he'd cost way too much. I don't feel we really need a Cb i still believe we need a quality defensive midfielder to help Song out who has been great this season. And a goalkeeper as no one stands out for us at the moment. One thing we all agree on is that Arsene needs to buy.

We were never in with a chance of the league if we are honest, but any outside chance we had went at the weekend. The gap is too wide and Man United and Chelsea are much better. Looks like our participation in the league cup will end tonight too.

And what's the point of getting excited about the FA Cup? If we are still in the Champions League, he'll just treat the FA Cup with contempt too. I'll never forgive him for mugging us fans for the cup semi and Wembley last season. That team selection was a disgrace. And after resting all those players didn't help as we still got dumped out of Europe just after losing that semi.

As for the kids, yes they can look good when they are playing a load of rubbish, but when they are up against proper footballers they don't look anything special.

Shit times.
