good news

He accidentally nicked the ball away from somebody having a shot on goal. Unfortunately he got kicked and broke his fibula. It's not a complicated one, it's a simple one but it will take six weeks to heal.

If what has been written is true, then that somebody is Diaby.

Why is Eduardo not fit? He had his plates and stuff out ages ago didn't he?

Maybe I'm mistaken, but I though he suffered another injury at the end of last season. Hopefully I'm wrong.

Well I saw an article today saying he's out for two months, but I'm not sure why. I know he obviously had a few niggly injuries after his return which is to be expected, and then he had some surgery on his leg at the end of the season which I gather was to remove some plates and screws and stuff. I don't know how long that puts you out for though so maybe that's the cause of his absence.

It's a shame because a proper pre-season would have done him a lot of good in ridding himself of the niggly injuries, but I guess he needed the leg op so it can't be helped.

Indeed.

If he can stay fit through out the season I can see him getting a nice return of goals for us. Then we've got RVP and Arshavin. Then Vela, Walcott and Bendtner. Right now, I don't think an Ade replcement is needed. While there's a few strikers out there I'd love to see join us, I won't be crying if come the start of the season we haven't got a new forward.

I'd still like the Ade money to go toward a mental hard man DMF.

£5 million????

What a bargain, especially when you read shit like this

Eboue is contracted to Arsenal until 2010 and reports suggest Fiorentina would be willing to pay around €10million (£8.6m).

I hope AW has got something up his sleeve, 'cos the available DMF's are running out. First Melo, now Cana.

I'm starting to get real scared to be honest, that this summer will turn out just like last summer. We all shout DMF till our ears bleed and Wenger fails to buy one.

Like you say LL, he better have something up that sleeve of his otherwise we are in some trouble. Maybe he's thinking of turning one of our current bunch into a DMF. While that could work (djourou or toure maybe) it's really something I don't want to see us doing. It's a gamble and a gamble in an area that is, I think, vital to how we will perform next season. If we get a decent DMF, I can see us challenging for, hell even winning, the league.

Fail to get a DMF and it's another fight for fourth. Maybe.

God I hate the summer.

Just in case anyone forgot what a tosser Adebayor really is, Sir Alex confirms what we sort of already knew.

Fergie claimed City new boy Emmanuel Adebayor called United to try and engineer a move to Old Trafford instead. But the former Arsenal striker was turned down flat.

Fergie also revealed striker Adebayor - desperate to sign for a club playing Champions League football - called United and Chelsea in the hope they would hijack his move to Eastlands from Arsenal.

The United chief added: "At the last minute, from what I can gather, I know Adebayor or his agent phoned us after he had agreed a deal with City and then did the same to Chelsea.

"You ask why he is going to Manchester City and it can only be for one reason. He was desperate to get to Chelsea and he was desperate to get to us.

Why are people are sweating Cana? He went to Sunderland for £5mio, he's hardly likely to be the second coming. I find it pretty hard to believe we were ever in for him at all.

We are not missing out on players. All that is happening is the fanciful transfer links that Newnow/sport hacks like to conjure up are being shown up as bullshit and somehow the stories get turned into "Arsenal miss out on xyz". It's ridiculous.

Laugh it up. I'm pretty sure that it's only ManYoo fans who think he'll be there by the end of the 2011 season. I've heard the this season rumour also.

It was the pointless, desperate shit stirring I was referring too as Dandelolo clearly hadn't bothered to read the whole article. That or he believes that Adebayor or his agent wasn't pimping him around.

I think he might leave at the end of this season, partly because I think Mourinho will be his replacement and there are lots of rumours that he'll be leaving Inter next summer. Who knows though, he looks perfectly healthy, clearly has the desire and is building a young squad.

QFT.

It's like Adebayor. Man City and their fans might think they have one over on us, but did you see any proper champions league clubs in for him this year? No. Why could that be? So second coming price tag, second tier club.

If Toure does leave I won't be too upset really. Last season wasn't his best and I think people will be feeling this one with their hearts more then their heads.

No argument with the fact he'll need to be replaced if he does go. If Eboue goes too, we should have a lot of monies to spend then but we might need a new back up right back...

Anyway, I heard that our Crozillian scored twice last night and was looking sharp. Good news that.

It looks like Toure is off then. I'll be very sad to see him go but it's not the end of the world.

Anyway, lol

I am becoming extremely alarmed at the players leaving. Yes, Toure is past his best but he is a good squad player. The difference between us and Man United, Liverpool & Chelsea is that they have quality cover for nearly every position. If we keep flogging experienced players and bringing no one in, we are going to be fucked.

We were paper thing last season, I can't even think of a word to describe how small and poor our squad is at the moment. I will start to question Wenger's sanity should Eboue be allowed to leave. He may not be the greatest player in the world, but he can cover any midfield/defensive position. Players like him are very valuable when we get to mid-season and we have injuries, suspensions and 3 matches in a week.

The lack of signings is worrying and should we start the season having lost Adebuyor, Toure & Eboue and just Vermaelen added, then someone needs to tell the fans what is going on. The current squad is barely good enough for a top 4 and is no where near big or good enough to mount a challenge for honours.

Looks like Toure is going, I am a little sad as I thought he was one of the best center backs in the league a few years ago but he's never looked the same since he got malaria, which as far as I can tell from playing Far Cry 2 seems pretty serious.

With Gallas and Vermaelen looking like the first choice pairing at center back, I wouldn't be surprised if Wenger uses Senderos and Silvese as backup, although I'd like to see someone new come in.

Fergie knows Arsenal are going to feature this season otherwise he wouldn't bother with his mindgames.

We haven't got a decent keeper, we have no decent CB's to cover Gallas & the new boy and we don't have a defensive midfielder or cover for a defensive midfielder!

Rosicky, Eduardo, van Persie, Diaby & Nasri are injury prone. We don't have a replacement for Adebayor and we have squad players like Denilson, Silvestre & Bendtner who are just not up to the job. And Theo is shit.

Obviously, I am not as optimistic as Fergie.

Hangelaand perhaps? He'd be an excellent signing for l'Arse and would provide some height at the back.

I'd like to see him join, but Wenger puts a lot of faith in players who have proved year after year that they are not good enough so I expect Senderos to feature a fair bit...

If Toure does go for 15mill or so, we should still get rid of Sendreos and Silvestre too by the way, it wouldn't be so bad as long as we bought a god CB, someone like Hangeland, bought a top DMF, don't quite know who, and bought a striker, Huntelar maybe.

If we had about 5mill left to spend after buying Vermalean, plus 25mill we got for that muppet, plus 15mill for Toure and about 6 or 7 mill at least for Senderos, oh and about £20 for Silvestre, that makes about £50million.

17mill for Huntelar, 10-15mill for Hangeland and that still leaves about 20mill to spend on a top DCM. If Wenger does something like this then I'd say this was all good business.

We'd have Gallas, Vermalean, Hangeland, Djourou and even Song at CB, not bad at all.

Is Huntelaar the 'fox in the box' Thierry always wanted? He's the perfect fit for Arsenal I think. RVP, Eduardo, Hunter & Bendtner as the physical guy to chuck on. Has Wenger given up playing Theo as a striker?

I don't see Arsenal as that much weaker if you lose Toure.
