O glorious day! Man alive I hate that lazy, money grabbing little cunt. If City get Terry as well they are going to have some right arseholes in that dressing room. Have they thought about taking Barton back?

I was almost looking forward to seeing Ade at the Barnet game on Saturday, but I guess our farewell will be that embarrassed wave as he skulked at the back during the lap of honour.

Anyone know when Everton tickets go on sale?

There's more chance of Sandra Richards brokering a deal for peace in Afghanistan than Vieira going to Spurs. Surely there's no way he'd even countenance the idea

She'd better start packing then as this looks like it has legs. Not that I'm happy about it, he's not been very good for a while now.

You'd think so, but you'd also think that players who were due to participate in the Europa League and Champions League wouldn't leave their clubs to join a Circus that aren't playing in Europe at all, but footballers are obviously fucking idiots.

I was pretty tired but I’m sure I heard a story on the radio about Patrick Vieira going to spurs. Anyone throw some light on this? I’m having horrible visions of PV scoring at the Emirates in a white shirt.

visions? london lite had a mock-up :D

I think not being in the Europa League is more of a pull than being in it. It's the worst competition ever conceived. 19 games in total, groups of 6 with 4 qualifying. What an utter shambles. You might play a decent team that will give you some revenue if you get to the semis but before that it's really not worth the effort.

It's a real shame as the UEFA Cup used to mean something. They need to cut down the CL and have two awesome european cups but the people in charge aren't brave enough. They've let the UEFA Cup slip so far that it's almost unsalvageable now.

It doesn't get much better than this...

The Gunners have had a £7m bid for Bordeaux striker Marouane Chamakh rejected, with the French club asking for defender Mikael Silvestre to be added to the offer.

The thing is, as bad as Silvestre is, if we get rid of squad players like him & Eboue, who will step in when a first teamer gets injured?

For us to have any chance of success, we need to add to the squad & not let people leave. Eboue is a valuable squad member in my book as is Silvestre. Between them, the can cover any defensive & midfield position.

Plus Adebayour now wants time to consider the City move. He is worried that back in Togo he might be seen as just interested in money if he takes it :):P:D

Truth is that he's waiting for a better offer. He's hoping Milan or Inter come in for him.

There are all sorts of rumours flying around.

- He's asked for £170k after being offered £150k

- He's waiting for Milan to come in for him

- He's worried about how Togo will view him

- He's worried about not being in the CL

- A combination of the above

Clearly the first two are far more likely obstacles to this deal but dropping out of a Champions League club will be a big thing aswell. There's no guarantee he would be playing in the CL at City at any point. Until we get there, getting these sorts of deals over the line is going to be tough.

I can't see him staying at Arsenal now, this has all come about because he's fallen out with the fans so City's main obstacle now is whether Milan (or maybe someone like Inter if Zlatan does go to Chelsea) stump up the cash.

I don't think City will let this drag on too long so hopefully we'll know after the weekend.

It's all his own doing. Since signing an improved contract his agent has been continually trying to move him on to another club. Us fans are not stupid, we knew what was going on but he still got out support but he threw everything back in our faces with months of shocking performances.

If he moves to City, his agent will still try and move him on to another club.

Didn't he start playing badly after being booed on his return? That's not really support. It's no excuse of course but clearly he felt unloved last season.

I agree that an agent will always be looking for the next big move though. Such is football.

No, only player that got booed was Eboue after putting in an absolutely shocking performance. And real fans didn't boo him, it was just the cunts who have only been turning up in the last year or two. You know the sort I mean, always arrive 10 mins late as they were queueing to get their nachos and drinks and other shit to bring to their seats.

It's like a bloody cinema at the Emirates with some people. Can't ever remember people at Highbury feeling the need to load themselves up with food to get them through 45 mins. It's a joke. Anyway, I'm going OT here.

Perhaps the most loving fans sit on the left of the pitch. And the opposition are always going to be unloving, which is why he always wants to stand so far behind them, where it is safe.

That or him and his agent are money-grabbing cunt who knows that getting an extra 20k out of City is really quite likely.

Im going to the saturday of the emirates cup. My mate who i'm going with is a big arsenal fan (and actually from london) and I'm a forest fan but have always had a soft spot for arsenal, since i was given that yellow and blue strip in the late 80's to wear for sports day. Then they beat liverpool to win the title in that kit in one of the first football games i remember watching...and i have yet to see a game beat it.

Anyhoo...just wondering what the emirates is like to get to and around?

I've just read that his agent offered him to Man United when City wouldn't go to 20k, with the response seemingly "LOL!" which I am sure the City fans will love.

Well there's a lot of rubbish in the papers at the moment. It's transfer & gossip silly-season after all. Lots of places are putting that sort of slant on the deal and I'm sure his agents will have put the feelers out to a lot of clubs but it's not something to lose sleep over.

The fact it hasn't been wrapped up already after the work-permit hearing probably means he won't be joining us anyway.

Personally I'd still love to have him at City, however it comes about.
