Exactly. The formation has played into their hands from the start. We're nowhere near the second ball and the last thing you want to allow a class footballing side to do is set things up at leisure from the back. I'd stick Theo up top with Adebayor and go with a flat four in the middle. Not sure who'd we play wide right but we need to get into them.

Seriously.. Off the pace. Cesc not fit, I think his position reflected that in hindsight. Great ball, great goal. Song, for all the world he's shit, did a good shift. Djourou I like. We looked, at times in the box, like we were defending for our lives, which we don't really do, but relatively speaking we're getting our bodies in the way of shit more than we did three months ago. I'm rambling.. :(

What was the general Consensus on the game. I actually thought it was a good result, and that although they outplayed us in the 1st half, we had the better in the 2nd. They did manage to carve up our defence way to often and it took some last ditch defending to keep us in the match. We seem to have a problem defending the area just outside the box.

I was confused, where we playing 4-4-2 or 4-2-3-1? The TV said 4-4-2, with Nasri as a 2nd striker and Denilson on thet right, but it looked more like Denilson and Song were playing in the middle. Having said that they both looked crap and as others have mentioned Cesc looked off the pace. Hopefully 2nd leg with RVP/Eduardo back will be better. Porto in the semi's anyone?

Gallas misses the rest of the season with a knee injury.

Almunia misses the next 3 weeks with an ankle injury.

Clichy out for 2 weeks with a back injury. While we've got over in all those postions it's still pretty shitty.

Are Gibbs, Djorururururu and Fabianski decent enough cover? Hmm, I don't know...
