I don't want to bash the team at every turn, but they do make that very easy for us to do so. We didn't concede tonight because Roma were tragic going forward. Simple as that. Also we played with a 5 man midfield. At home. The reason we've stopped shipping goals all the time is because we're showing no interest in scoring any ourselves.

Can someone, anyone explain why Bendtner started and more puzzlingly, on the left fucking wing? They practically called it a master stroke on the commentary. 'No-one expected Wenger to do that!'. Too bloody right they didn't. He's about as tricky as a tug boat manoeuvring. His touch just isn't good enough for a professional footballer. I said this last summer, but he's pony. A Billy big bananas who's ego is allowed to run unchecked at Arsenal. He'll never be good enough. Ever.

No, but the fact that we've gone on an unbeaten run belies the fact that we've only done so by the skin of our teeth, and that we are a shadow of our former glory.

You could argue that any team that doesn't go 50 games unbeaten is a shadow of our former glories. I'm afraid that team has passed and the only way to help this ever-improving team is to take the positives out and give the lads something to play for: I loved RvP's celebration tonight, full of passion, raw emotion and almost anger-he looked hungry for it and it's about fucking time that one of them did.

Oh very very droll.

The team is shit, full of overpaid kids and we're all doomed yeah?

Do your employers reward you with a pay rise or new contract for delivering mediocrity?

The thing is, I agree mostly with what you're saying. After having so many great years under Wenger, we've become spoilt and complacent. I'm sure fans of pretty much any other team would gladly swap places to be in the "mess" we're in now.

But having had those years and knowing what Wenger can pull out of the bag makes these lean years all the more painful.

Still think tickets are massively overprived though.

Arsenal have announced that their profits rose by £4.5m to £24.5m before tax in a report for the six months ending on 30 November 2008.

The club saw match-day turnover swell to £44.4m, up £3.3m, while broadcasting revenue increased by £4.5m to £28.9m.

Arsenal have not been immune from the economic slowdown though with sales of apartments in their Highbury Square development slower than expected.

The delay will force Arsenal to extend their bank loan for the building work.

Construction on Highbury Square is close to completion, with 186 apartments, valued at a total of £76.7m, now finished and at the end of November, sales had already been agreed worth £58.1m.

Arsenal chairman Peter Hill-Wood said: "Clearly there are some significant challenges ahead of us, both on and off the pitch, over the closing months of this financial year and beyond.

"The UK property market has been particularly affected by the economic downturn and, inevitably, this has had an impact on the group's own property development activities."

Arsenal - who funded the move to Emirates Stadium with a 23-year loan at a fixed interest rate - have been eager to assure fans that the performance of the club's property business would not affect manager Arsene Wenger.

"The financial arrangements for the group's property activities are separate and largely operate independently from the financing of the football business," Hill-Wood said.

"This has always been a key aspect to allow us to develop the football team as with, for example, the signing of Andrey Arshavin, irrespective of the difficult conditions in which our property business is having to operate."

I haven't watched a game in a while, but god are we shit. It seemed like no-one bar an unfit Arshavin could be bothered. To be fair to the team it seemed like the Diaby/Denilson pairing sucked the life out of everyone else. Neither of them can make an incisive pass or tackle or hold on to the ball and slow down every counter attack.

Missed the game as I was travelling today but the MOTD highlights made us look (mostly) gash. Fair enough, Van Persie was unlucky and Arshavin looked sharp but I do not expect to be watching Arsenal at home and see Simon Fucking Davies waltzing through the midfield with nothing but a comedy 'challenge' from Diaby for company. Awful.

Fulham did well today. They could see all they had to do was run through the middle because there was just so much space!

I've seen some fucking awful Premier League sides come to Highbury/Emirates. Some have got a right spanking as we exposed their every weakness (sometimes brutally with the 5-0's, 6-0's & even 7-0 drubbings we dished out). Now teams with a semi-decent defence will lock us out for 90 mins and expose our weaknesses.

I'm sorry, but Denilson is shit. Diaby is shit. Eboue is shit and Bendtner is one of the shittiest players I've ever seen at the club. What fucking hope have we got when Bendtner and Eboue are meant to turn the game for us? It shows the complete lack of strength and depth at Arsenal.

Adebuyor hasn't been the same player since he got his new contract. He tries to do all the stuff Henry did but he doesn't have the pace, skill or competence to pull any of it off. The sooner he rediscovers last seasons form the better. The fact he's currently injured doesn't matter because he hasn't been missed because he wasn't contributing anything.

They gave the attendance as 60,000 again. There was around 52,000 - many season ticket holders just are not bothering to turn up. There's no way they will renew next year. It's going to be interesting how they are going to fill that stadium next season, especially if we miss out on Europe altogether. I can honestly see us free-falling to around 7th or 8th unless our form changes.

Wenger's plan A doesn't work and there is no plan B or C - there never has been with him. If I woke up tomorrow and found out that he'd quit I wouldn't be bothered. I never thought I'd say that about him. He's clueless this year and he can't motivate the overpaid clowns we have playing for us. Not that they should need motivating, but a good manager should have the respect of his players, players that want to give him 100%.

Today was like a distillation of every one of Wenger's faults. We were too reluctant to shoot, relied heavily on sub-par cheapo signings and lacked any variation when going forward. I was surprised to see Diaby, Eboue and Bendtner getting such a glowing reviews on Arseblog during the week as I thought they were dump. The only difference between this game's performance and that was that we won mid-week. Everton are now officially up our arse as if we didn't know already and we have every chance of ending up 6th, or worse. Arshavin looks decent, but getting him when the rest of our team is so porous is fucking insane.

Van Persie has apparently been dropped in favour of Bendtner. Odds on 0-0?

Almunia, Sagna, Toure, Eboue, Clichy, Song Billong, Djourou, Nasri, Denilson, Bendtner, Arshavin.

Subs: Fabianski, Diaby, Van Persie, Vela, Ramsey, Gibbs, Merida.

It's like he doesn't want to win.
