It's fallen through.

9.47 Latest news on Arshavin. Sky Sports News reports he is heading back to a London airport with sources close to Arsenal claiming the Gunners are not prepared to meet Zenit's terms. Sky Bet have moved quickly to reflect this latest development with him now rated as 6/4 to move to the Emirates.

It's true. They tease us all month with a transfer nobody really wanted to start with, piss about with the fee, bring the cunt over, give him a medical then decide not to pay the fee and send him back to Russia. Maybe Man City will buy him.

You know with the latest news being that the Arshavin deal is off, it got me thinking this could be a blessing in disguise. I mean we are so desperate to sign someone, anyone, but do we really need a player like Arshavin....he strikes me as another Hleb (bit better tho).

We need another Viera, no another fancy dan in midfield/the hole....perhaps its all for the best

I talk sense all the time, some people on here are just cry babies or follow a bandwagon

I said this ages ago, but Scott Parker would have been a good signing....technically very good, gets stuck in, and would have been cheap....oh well

The snow in the South is bonkers, I've got a good 10 inches here (oo-er).

I read somewhere that it's our new CE's magic way of making Arshavin welcome into the capital.

If he wan't to do that he could just pay Zenit and Owly the fucking money they're after.

And I'd pick up Appiah too.

Like the bandwagon that's been rolling through this thread for a month that states that Arshavin isn't really what we need, and a central midfielder like Vieira/Flamini would have made more sense?

Latest; he's not gone to an airport, he's gone somewhere else to sort terms.

Like I said, he can't fly out of the country, so he might be forced into a transfer. I'd be fucked off if after all this fucking about we didn't sign ANYONE. Especially because we're shit.

For some reason this reminds me of a romantic film. I can picture Arshavin walking towards the airport security gate while Wenger, in tears, thinks he has gone forever only to see that all flights are cancelled. Cue hugs and kisses.

The Guardian now reckons the deal is off, but their source sounds like jayboy:

"He's getting 3.875m euros and the club is offering half. Who would take another job for half the money? Arsenal have been making big waves by saying this would be the big historic transfer in the history of the Gunners. Well, its bull.

"They thought they could pull this off by saying we are a big club, this is a nice country, all that stuff. But he's not a 16-year-old from Africa."

Nice journalism there, morons.

In other news, it's shitting snow down here in Sheffield. And I'm gonna have a fiver on Owly joining.

And another fiver on him staying at Zenit.

The thing that annoys me is even if we cannot afford anyone...why do we never get anyone on load. Appiah on loan or even a free would have been OK, but instead he is at Spurs whilst they decide if they want him or not.

Has Wenger ever had anybody in on loan?

Very annoying indeed

Because the Arshavin deal sounds like it's stalling over wages, and if you get someone in on loan you still have to pay them.
