Just popped in to post that-unreal shot, really. As arseblog says, why Wilshere isn't in ahead of Eboue is a proper mind-fuck for me,
If we fail to sign Arshavin we should really start playing Wilshere on the right a hell of a lot more - as well as using that unused money to buy players we actually need.

He's too young. Really, how tempting must it be to stick him in the side? For me, I think I'd hold him back. It's the responsible thing to do for lots of reasons.

Blimey though, what a talent?

Young, smoung. He's immense. What do you lose by playing him in every 4th game say, or by bringing him on every match after 70mins? The lad needs to be playing at top flight asap.

Just saw this on the BBC...

Atletico Madrid have failed in a bid to sign Arsenal's Emmanuel Eboue as the Londoners want to open talks with the midfielder about a new contract, the Ivory Coast international's agent has claimed. (Daily Mail, 1358 GMT)

As long as they offered a fiver and a bag of wine gums I would have bitten their hand off.

And Arsene has rejected a bid for Bendtner too apparently.

Arsenal striker Nicklas Bendtner has turned down the chance to join German side Hoffenheim according to his agent and father Thomas Bendtner.

I'll bet Wenger was ready to drive him there.

edit: Scratch that...

Reports from Germany suggest that Hoffenheim have had an approach for Arsenal striker Nicklas Bendtner rejected by Arsene Wenger.

I may soil myself with excitement when he scores his first goal at home. I can't wait. Will be a real bright spot in a pretty shitty season when he comes back.

Do you think he will play Sunday - perhaps not the easiest game to throw him back into, but I'm sure even us nasty Cardiff fans will give him a polite clap.

When I saw it I thought he was finished for good.

I doubt it but he may put him on the bench. I'll be there.

Walcott couldn't hit a cow's arse with a banjo until that England game. He's been well managed, IMO. You need to bring players through slowly. Chucking in Wilshere would be a mistake and we might live to regret it. I'd have been happier putting him with some leaders, but the one player I'd trust to guide him (Cesc) is missing most, if not all, of this season. I don't think Wilshere getting a run of games with tons of expectation and in a struggling side would be very sensible or fair on the lad. Lovely to see him now and again, mind. I just hope he's managed for the long term, not as a short term fingers crossed solution.

So, Zenit have agreed to a £15m offer apparently and the deal should be complete over the next 48 hours.

I know Arshavin doesn't quite seem to fill our most pressing needs but he seems to be a cracking player. All in all, assuming he arrives, I will be chuffed!

Anybody else to arrive before the deadline do we think?...
