Love it how we always get Man Yoo & Chelsea at the end of the season. The title will inevitably go to one of those three clubs so it's just done for TV. Fixtures should be random.

Let me guess, is there the "Grand Slam Sunday" whereby the big 4 conveniently meet on the same day?

I agree. I've had enough of greedy players, fuck them. Sagna had an outstanding first season and was rewarded with a new extended contract. But talking up a new contract when you are already on good money is just greed.

That report that came out recently put Arsenal only just behind Man Utd in wages paid, and we were both on about £90m per year. Chelsea were on something silly like £140m a year. Don't believe that Arsenal don't pay good money, we do to the right players.

I also agree. However we seem to pay a lot of money to players who have delivered nothing for 3 seasons on the bounce.

Kompany, 22, is valued at £10m. Wenger said: “I have been interested in Vincent Kompany ever since he was 16, but I am not interested in him this year. There is nobody I need for my team’s defensive department.

“I still follow Kompany’s progress all the time and I know him very, very well. But he will not be an Arsenal player next season — and you can print that.

“I know all the good Belgian players. Arsenal are following a number of them with great interest, although I won’t name names.”

It seems Wenger isn't interested in Kompany but I hope he's bluffing with the bit about not needing anybody "for my team’s defensive department".

Surely we will buy a centre back.

Gallas, Toure, Senderos and Song are not quite enough over a long hard season. Throw in a Tony Adams or a Martin Keown then you're ok.

Also who are these good Belgian players? I didn't think there were any.

Arsenal have wrapped up the signing of AZ Alkmaar midfielder Oğuzhan Özyakup, after the final details of the transfer were settled between the two clubs.

Young Guns announced an agreement had been reached for the players services two months ago, but then Oğuzhan himself admitted there were one or two things to iron out. This has now been completed, and he will join his new team mates in September.

The Gunners took advantage of Özyakup’s contract situation, as rules in Holland dictate a young player cannot sign on as a professional until he reaches 17 years old. This means clubs from countries such as England can come and snap up prospects, leaving their former employers furious.

AZ managing director Marcel Brands confirmed he did everything in his power to keep the Academy’s prize asset, but conceded they could not come close to matching Arsenal’s offer. Oğuzhan was uncertain of the move at first, as it would mean moving to a strange country without his family, However Liam Brady put in place a structure, which means they will have housing and jobs (a kebab house in Finsbury Park) in place when they arrive in London.

Özyakup is Dutch born, but his parents originate from Turkey, and at just 15 is already an Under 17 International for his native Holland. He is a creative and highly technical central midfielder, who can also play on the wings. Blessed with a superb passing range, and ability to crop up in the right place to score goals. All his talents add up to a lethal combination for any opposition.

Although will not link up with Arsenal until he turns 16 in September, he will spend the summer training (at summer camp with his school friends) with his new team mates, and adapting to the new surroundings in London.

We're gonna have some team in 2015!

Marseille expect Samir Nasri to complete his transfer to Arsenal in the next few days, leaving them free to splash the cash on Lyon’s Hatem Ben Arfa, and Nice’s Bakari Koné, according to the clubs local sports news agency La Provence.

The paper has close links with L’OM, and have previously broken exclusive stories regarding Marseille’s transfer business, including Nasri’s switch to the Gunners. They confirm chairman Pape Diouf has signalled out Lyon winger Hatem Ben Arfa, and the Nice forward Bakari Koné as suitable replacements, and want Arsenal to wrap up the deal quickly, in order to fund their own transfer business.

One part of the article i find very interesting is this.

“Dans quelques jours, le départ de Nasri à Arsenal sera officialisé et allégera considérablement la masse salariale du club. Par ailleurs”

Which translates as..

“In the next few days, the departure of Nasri to Arsenal will be officialized and will considerably reduce the wage bill of the club.”

This would indicate that Samir would be earning big money at Arsenal, which ties in with Wenger’s comments about the wage difference between the English and French Leagues.

Realistically his signing should be completed in the next days, so he has time to sort out his housing and such before going on holiday. But with all that’s gone on so far, this transfer is almost impossible to predict.

Arséne Wenger was working for Arabic network Al-Jazeera yesterday evening, alongside Cescare Maldini and Sami Al-Jaber, who both tried to convince Wenger into admitting he had signed Samir. Throughout the commentary, he was constantly asked “Your New Player Nasri?” and whilst the boss said nothing, several commenter’s said he “nodded” at this suggestion.

The saga continues........

Nasri 'agrees Arsenal contract'

Arsenal have won the race to sign France midfielder Samir Nasri from Marseille, BBC Sport understands.

The 20-year-old, who has been dubbed the new Zinedine Zidane, has reportedly agreed a four-year contract and will join after Euro 2008.

Nasri, who has made two appearances at this summer's European Championship, has spent the last four seasons with the French side.

He came to prominence in France's U-17 European Championship side in 2004.

The 20-year-old is believed to have a £13.5m buy-out clause in his contract.

Nasri joined Marseille as a nine-year-old and made his league debut during the 2004-2005 season.

Last season, Nasri, who can play on either wing, won the French first division's young player of the year crown and was voted Marseille's player of the year by fans.

This campaign he scored six goals in 30 games for the French outfit with the final strike in his tally coming in the 4-3 win over Strasbourg last weekend that helped secure Marseille's berth in next season's Champions League.

Nasri had appeared at various youth international levels for France before winning the first of seven senior caps in 2007, though he only came on as a substitute as Les Bleus exited Euro 2008.

The BBC's Football Correspondent Jonathan Legard said: "Arsene Wenger had hoped to complete the deal before Euro 2008 but now the official announcement will come after the tournament.

"He could be a replacement for Alexander Hleb whose future remains the subject of speculation."

I still won't believe it until it's confirmed by the Club.

That's because they're really Africans who've been playing in Belgium for 3 years in order to nationalise (and thus get an Belgian passport).

A few rumours. In order of likelihood :( ..

Nasri in London for his medical.

Martins wanted for £15m.

Eto'o given personal tour of Emirates Stadium.

The Nasri one surely must be true.

Martins, what Lucas said.

Eto'o, even less likely than Martins.

I think Clichy's not going anywhere, the whole article is a load of bollocks with both managers just saying how good a player they think he is and being a good player they'd obviously like to have him in their teams.

As for Adebayor, I'm sure Wenger doesn't want to sell, even at the ridiculous prices being quoted, but basically it comes down to the player as usuall. If he wants to go and play in the UEFA cup and pick up a bigger salary and then kicks up a fuss, then of course it could happen. If he comes out and says he wants to stay at Arsenal and his agent gets him an extra few quid from us in the bargain then he'll stay.

Simple as that really.

Clichy has just today signed a new contract.

Great news, I know he had a bit of a wobble towards the end of the season but he's an outstanding fullback - France, you have to imagine, would have been a better side for playing either he or Evra - Flamini too while we're at it.

Not really true.

Among the more promising Belgian players there are quite a few who are just children of immigrants. Kompany for instance is the son of a Congolese Belgian, of which there are loads in Brussels.

The tactic of trying to obtain a Belgian passport is used by some mostly second-tier players.
