Euro 2008 probably came around slightly too soon for Clichy, but there's no doubt in my mind that come the world cup he'll be a permanent fixture in the French squad/team.

Sagna also didn't get in. Surely that's because he's injured no?

With Rosicky and obviously Eduardo missing the Euro's too, maybe we could have a few players a bit more fresh and rested for next season.

Both cracking players. Ask any Arsenal fan though*, Clichy is fantastic. No way anyone is way ahead of him.

* :(

I'm a huge fan of Clichy but he had a poor end to the season by his very high standards. Abidal and Evra are pretty serious competition too.

I caught that Fabregas thing on tv this morning. Surreal.

I hope so. He'd be great competition\replacement for Helb...so I've been told. Really though, I don't know too much about the kid.

I haven't really seen him play either (outside of a few Youtube clips) but there is nothing like the excitement of buying a player so I am very excited. Come on Wenger, dust off the chequebook. If you remember where it is.

I've saw Nasri play and I'm not sure I see him as a midfielder. He's more of a 'hole' player or a playmaker that operates behind a striker. From what I've saw of him he's sublime and undoubtedly talented. He would be a great buy but where Wenger plays him is up for debate.

Wenger would prob play him out wide and in the hole depending on the situation, but i only see us trying to get him if hleb leaves.

He's played wide a fair few times this season but yeah, he's a proper number 10. He really is amazingly gifted. If you lot get him I'll be well jealous. I've seen the fee being mooted is £12.5m. If you do get him, and for that price then Wenger will have pulled off his greatest transfer masterstroke since he nabbed Fabregas from Barca. Perhaps even better.

His agent did say that any move would be a 'traditional' transfer and not an 'ungentlemanly' webster clause buyout. Mind you, an agent could say that night follows day and I'd still call him a lying cunt, the lying cunt.

So Arseblog as a link to this story...

Which apparently says (it's in French, I can't make head nor tail) we will sign Nasri today and for €15 million. Sounds to good to be true? Yes, probably, but please god let it be true!

As light relief I have added the babel fish translation of the above article below.

L' information; Equip: Samir Nasri will play Arsenal the next season. The young trained leader with l' OM could even sign its contract in favour them Gunners before finding l' equip with France with Clairefontaine, this Wednesday with 19:30, the time when will begin the gathering from Blue preceding l' Euro. It will have spent four seasons there, discovered the League of the champions, l' equip with France, gained the title of better hope of L1 in 2007. Why do Arsenal fans have to go through this every time we might sign a player.

He's bloody good, he's French, he's bloody available, just fucking offer the money and put us out of our misery PLEASE!!

As I've said elsewhere, I find it hard to believe that they've allowed this minimum fee release clause into his contract. £13.5m amounts to a steal. He'll probably take a while to adapt as he's quite slight, but he's truly gifted and he'll fit right in at Arsenal. Better he goes to you than the Mancs or Chelsea but you're still a bunch of slags if Wenger pulls this off. [/jealous]

:(

I can imagine the negotiations are tense:

Wenger: How much for Nasri?

Marseille: £13.5m

Wenger: I'll give you a tenner?

Marseille: £13.5m

Wenger: OK a tenner and this cuddly toy. And a signed photo of me?

Marseille: £13.5m

Wenger: I'll throw in two tickets to a match next season. And Ian Wright and David Seaman will come round your house and play football with your kids?

Marseille: £13.5m

Wenger: Are you sure I can't haggle you down? Maybe Ian Wright will bring some of the Gladiators with him?

Marseille: Kirsty Gallagher?

Wenger: I doubt it.

Marseille: £13.5m then.

Wenger: £13m?

Marseille: £13.5m!

Wenger: £13.1?

Marseille: £13.5m!

Wenger: Go on then.

We could be waiting some time.
