Man, that should have been 8. Eboue was awful again.

Anyone else watch the game on setanta? What was with the commentary, just loads of long silences! Crap.

They didn't want to interupt the beautiful football.

Or they were gobsmacked that for 10 mins either side of Derbys second goal it ALMOST looked like Arsenal were going to throw it away... again.

Aye, listened to it in the background on 5 Live Xtra.

They were joking that Derby should have had a penalty, then a minute later, wham, 3-2, BACK IN THE GAME!.

They weren't serious in the slightest, they reckoned Arse could have had 6 by then. As it was, they eventually did.

Well, we can still win the league :D .

Thing is, it's now sinking in how we've literally thrown this away. We have had incredible injury problems but even an average spell of late would have landed us the title. All started at Birmingham. Or maybe the FA Cup game. Same old story for us.

I know it is a big if and no point thinking of now, but IF we held on against Man Utd and Chelsea when we were winning 1-0 we would be five points clear and just need to win on Sunday to win the league. This is not even taking into account all those pathetic draws we had recently. :D

Good point and it's not really that big an IF. I mean, I think we deserved both games and a team with any kind of clue defensively would've held on for at least a point. We gave all the goals away on plates. And we don't do 'backs to the wall' at all, do we? I think I need to leave it now cos this is gonna bug me :D .

Even if we'd drawn both games all three teams would be on 79pts.

Anyway, enough of that.

Best part of last night's game.

Also, Wenger on RVP:

"It was his thigh," said Wenger. "But the substitution was precautionary. There is no problem."

That's good news, that means he should be fit for the start of next season.

Former Arsenal captain and defender Tony Adams has admitted that he would do just about anything to be able to return to Arsenal in a coaching capacity.

Many Arsenal fans are saying that Adams would be the eventual successor to Arsène Wenger, once he's gained enough experience in the Premiership.

Adams is currently assistant manager to Harry Redknapp at Portsmouth.

'Big Tone' said: "I've not been offered nothing here [Portsmouth], I've not been offered anything elsewhere.

"I want to keep learning and wherever that takes me it takes me.

"I always tried to lead by example [at Arsenal] and get out there and make sure they realised they were playing for the Arsenal. I tried to install in the team a kind of 'over our dead bodies' kind of attitude.

"I just feel that people don't realise that the best back four win the league. The last two seasons Manchester United have had the best back four and, before that, John Terry and his men were fantastic for two years.

"We've kept more clean sheets at Portsmouth than Arsenal have, but I'm not going to question the great man [Wenger].

"I love the club, it was part of my life for so many years and if anyone at Arsenal wants to invite me back, I'm willing to give it a shot. I'm fully prepared and willing to do what I have to do."

We could do with him on the pitch, let alone on the bench.

Get him in I say.

It seems we've bought a player.

Bulgarian newspaper The Sofia Echo have confirmed that Arsenal have signed Levski Sofia midfielder Nikolay Dimitrov for a reported £700,000 rising to £1 million.

Dimitrov plays on the left wing and at 20 will probably start the season as first choice LM ahead of Vela. As it currently stands, Eduardo, who broke his foot is set to return to first team action before Rosicky who continues to have injury problems.

The 20-year-old Bulgarian international came to Arsenal on a 15 day trial and impressed Wenger greatly. Unlike the other trainee Mputu, Wenger did not need a 2nd invitation and started negotiations straight away.

Dimitrov said, "Its so exciting. The coaching staff are very kind and Arsenal are a very good team with good young player. I hope to lead Arsenal to as much silverware as possible but right now I must focus on my career."

Where is that quote from, is it definitely confirmed?

Eduardo, who broke his foot is set to return to first team action before Rosicky who continues to have injury problems.

Surely that's nonsense? Rosicky's injury might be a bit mysterious/persistent; but it seems a bit pessimistic to assume he'll be out until Christmas!

I think the Rosicky thing was a piss take.

Anyway I've read today that we haven't bought him.

Nothing on the Arsenal site, so maybe we haven't.....yet.

After eight highly successful years at Arsenal, Managing Director and Director of Arsenal Holdings PLC, Keith Edelman, has today announced his departure from the Club in search of a fresh challenge.

Mr Edelman, who was responsible for overseeing the historic move from Highbury to Emirates Stadium, has resigned as a Director of Arsenal Holdings PLC, but will be retained by the Club for a 12 month period to ensure that a smooth transition takes place.

Keith Edelman said: "I have thoroughly enjoyed my time at Arsenal. It has been a very exciting period for the business and I am proud to have contributed to the Club's many off-field achievements over the past eight years, not least the Emirates Stadium project. Now that we have completed our second season at Emirates, I believe it is the right time to seek pastures new and embark upon fresh challenges. "

Peter Hill-Wood, Chairman, commented: "Keith has played a major role in the growth of the Club since he joined in 2000. In that time we have successfully implemented the move from Highbury to Emirates Stadium that has underpinned the future of the business and confirmed our position as one of Europe's leading clubs. We are grateful to Keith for his crucial role in this transformation.

"Under Keith's stewardship the Club has achieved record profits and the Board owes him a debt of gratitude for his contribution. We wish him the very best

·for the future."

The Board has already initiated the search for a new Managing Director and will update shareholders and stakeholders when appropriate. In the meantime,

·Director Ken Friar, who has a wealth of football-based experience and business acumen having previously occupied the role of Managing Director (1982-2000), will assume the position of Acting Managing Director.

His job was basically managing the stadium building and a damn fine one he did too. Perhaps the new MD can locate the chequebook. :o

Edelman was a shithouse. He was credited with "overseeing Arsenal's re-branding and crest redesign", and is pretty much responsible for the slow transformation of the club towards McEmirates FC and the sad fact that going down the Arsenal is more akin to a theme park, with a hilariously expensive 'matchday experience'.

He oversaw the move - credit for that, obviously - but in my book that was really Ken Friar's baby and more credit should be attributed to him.

I'd make a fucking great MD of Arsenal. Sort it right out.

I was gonna put a few quid on that but 80/1 doesn't seem that generous.

You go about your bets in a different way to me. I always bet against my team so if they lose I still win. Then I have a crank after the match.

Most of the crowd in my section were shouting "OFF" at Eboue in the second half - useless lump of flesh that he is. I can't think of a player I have despised so much for ages.

Anyway crazy Jens got a decent send off and Traore a run out at left wing. Was Senderos also given a last bow? Time will tell.

I would have some of the kids in the squad for Sunderland.
