What a bizarre thing to say! Is he carrying an injury? If not, why on earth ISN'T he fully fit? Surely he trains just as hard as everyone else at the club...

I think he attributed it to the tournament Argentina were involved in pre-season (Copa de America?). It was a little while ago that I recall reading this now that I think about it.

Forget everything I've said.

But i'm suprised the players are happy as you would think that players like Tevez would wanna play every game which he could do at another club.

To be fair I think Tevez has played in about 90% of games this season, albeit not always from the start. I don't see how he could complain, he's scored some crucial goals and knows he's an essential part of the team. It's not like he's sitting on the bench game after game ala Crouch.

If you swapped rooney and tevez around and rooney was coming off the bench alot he would moan like anything and to me tevez is a player who could easily be a key player for another top team so i'm just suprised you don't hear any grumbles from him. But that is good for you guys.

I think players realise that football at the very top is a squad game, it's not about individuals and playing every game. The Torres's, Ronaldo's Teves's etc haven't played every game when fit, and rightly so. At the very top, which utd are, it's about realising it's a marathon and not a sprint, which we've found out.

Anyway, if some of utd's players get pissed off at not playing every week, maybe the blow is softened when they're trying to work out where to keep their ever increasing stash of medals, oh and maybe the 100k they collect every week also helps.

Ronaldo, Torres, Rooney have played virtually every game when fit apart from a few times when they have been rested to keep them sharp (something which Adebayor didn't get) Tevez isn't in the same catagory.

I agree about Adebayor, we haven't been able to rest him, that's what's been so frustrating.

The others mentioned have had the odd rest, to keep them sharp like you say and yeah maybe Teves is slightly different in that he has had a rest 'cos he's a fat git.

To be fair though, Tevez puts himself about more than 90% of players when he is on the pitch, so it would be hard to sustain that. I am sure he runs more than nearly any other player when he is on.

I'm worried about these rumours of Hleb leaving.

Arseblog today states that as well as scoring only 11 goals in 3 seasons; he only has 7 assists in the league this season compared to 18 for Fabregas. I find this really surprising... I know stats don't lie, but this season I think Hleb has looked brilliant most of the time. Almost every time he plays I'm impressed by his skill and his passing ability and I think when he's missing we always look weaker for it. Apart from the lack of goals I'd say his only weakness is that when we've been struggling in games he's tended to fade out of them; he never seems like someone who's going to really change the game on his own and drag the whole team up.

I still think it would be terrible to lose him, even if his stats suggest his contribution isn't that great.

I'm more worried about this 'buy out' business. Anyone understand how this works? Wenger is worried for the future stability of Clubs by all accounts.

I think Flamini will go and so will Helb. Ideally I'd like them to stay but if they want to go then good luck to them. It's all about the money and the grass is rarely greener when you leave Arsenal. I suppose I'd consider moving on for 50% more money and some sun. There's no loyalty from players anymore.

Speaking of which, I see that in Arsenal's recently revealed accounts it's revealed that Henry pocketed a previously undisclosed £5 million signing on bonus plus £5 million in wages for that last injury-ridden "love this club" season at Arsenal.

(If that sounds like a trolling post, it isn't meant to be.)

It'd be infuriating if they do. I honestly don't think they would be better off anywhere else. Perhaps Hleb would be more suited to a less physical league; but he still isn't quite the kind of superstar player who will walk into a big team. And Arsenal's style of play is just ideally suited to him. The midfield combination we have works so well; I don't understand how any of them would want to give that up. Another thing: however big a club you move to, tehre is no guarentee of trophies. I know this season's been frustrating, but the players must realise how close we were. If everyone stays we'd be in the title race again next year, even if we don't make any signings.
