I am starting to think Flamini will leave which will be a blow.

If he does my wish list for the summer will be:

A top goalkeeper. Almunia is not a number one. He has done OK but I do not want him as our number one. From the PL, good and obtainable, Carson at Villa and Kirkland (if he can stay fit) at Wigan may be worth a punt. The PSV keeper we were linked with may be worth a go but I haven't seen a great deal of him in action.

A tough, tall centre back. We have lacked height and strength at the back and someone like Vidic (£7m) and Skrtel (also about £7m) would be perfect. No idea who would fill this role.

A defensive central midfielder: Even if Flamini stays this position needs strengthening. Looking about, Noble from West Ham wouldn't be a bad buy if Flamini stays, but if Flamini leaves and this person would be playing week in and week out I think we need someone better. Not sure who. Diarra is a cunt. Just wanted to say that again.

A left midfielder. Yes I know. We don't do wingers. A left footer to give us some natural width and someone fast to give us a bit of pace. Vela may be good but I don't want to rely on kids for a long hard season. Go back and see if Ribery hates Germany? Ashley Young is a gooner and a good shout but I think we have missed the boat on both of them. Again not sure who.

A forward. I'm not 100% sure which type of forward we need but I would like a creative deep lying forward as I think he would be able to link up with all our current forwards. I can't think now.

This is my wish list. In reality we will get someone to replace Flamini when he leaves and a couple of kids we have never heard of. <_<

Goran Pandev, currently plays for Lazio will meet those requirements 100%.

Surely we're more in need of a clinical finisher? Van Persie tends to drop deep, and Adebayor is good at holding the ball up or pulling out wide. We've always got Hleb to play 'in the hole' as well... I think we want someone who will jsut bury every chance they get.

Good shout. We have been linked with him in the past but Wenger was scared off by the fact that he is neither French, a teenager or available for a minimal fee. In all seriousness I haven't seen him play that much but this is the type of player I think we need.

Eduardo. I know his injury means he will be lucky to play again this year but I think he ticks the "finisher" box and others can chip in. A creative player (like a Bergkamp-type) would bring more out of everyone else. Also I think Eduardo is about as close as Wenger will get to a pure finisher, he always wants his strikers to offer more than just goals.

I can hear Wenger now...

"With Rosiscky and Van Persie fit its like two new signings, and with Eduardo's recovery ahead of schedule we feel ready for the season ahead"

<_<

Don't joke. There's a very high probability of that happening.

Yeah, Eduardo fills that role, but I just think if we want to win anything next season we can't be expecting him to contribute. Even if the recovery goes smoothly he won't be playing until halfway through the season; and then it could easily take until the end of the season before he's regained his sharpness and confidence and started to find some form.

Considering the progress we've made this year i'm suprised everyone believes we need to make so many big changes to our squad. Personally i agree Almunia isn't a fantastic keeper but he is a steady keeper and i can't remember him costing us too many times this season so i wouldn't replace him especially as we have Fabianski to push on. I agree we need a centre back who doesn't need blistering pace but a typical do or die defender. I feel senderos hasn't done alot wrong this season apart from a bad game against liverpool but everyone plays bad now and then. Rosicky and RVP injuries have been a real concern but it would be stupid to sell either of them, we would be better having more players to chose from. Merida and Vela especially will provide competition for the left but i would love ashley young to sign but like i said before i think that ship has sailed. I still don't believe we need another striker we had some rotten luck with injuries which not many other clubs had (though west hams was worse) especially as we had injuries in the same positions so the back ups ended up on the treatment table aswell. Provided we have more players for the wide areas Walcott will play up front alot more. Who says he can't be as effective as agbonlahore. Also the fact that Wenger doesn't rotate enough at certain times like christmas was the reason we struglled towards the end. Fabregas needs more of a rest and with Denilson and Diaby wenger should feel comfortable in doing so. He doesn't seem to trust the players coming in which is silly as he didn't trust Flamini last season and this season he wouldn't drop him! One postion we definately need to strengthen is left back.

People don't want too many starting 11 changes, but we need to bolster the numbers. We don't have adequate cover in a multitude of positions. We get hit hard by injuries & suspensions as we can't replace quality with quality.

The back line needs to be sorted out. Clichy & Sagna are magnificent, but we never know what sort of a game Toure is going to have and Gallas seems to have lost the plot since Xmas. I blame Toure's bad games on Gallas! Toure is very strong when he plays alongside someone he's comfortable with (he plays better when Senderos is in the side! <_< ).

We need cover for Flamini. No one else at the club can fill the position (Gilberto is too rusty and needs to go and Denilson isn't one to roll up his sleeves and run his arse off). We need cover on the wings and we need a proven goalscorer from somewhere.

We need to get a goalie too. Teams who win trophies have a settled defence. We can't carry on with two feuding goalies and a captain who sulks and loses the plot all the time.

I think we need a fantastic keeper and not a steady keeper.

Senderos has shown us that he cannot be relied upon against top strikers, Drogba and Torres spring to mind.

I wouldn't sell Rosicky or RVP either, especially RVP.

I would like to see Ashley Young at Arsenal and yes maybe that ship has sailed, but why not tempt them with an offer of £15 mill or so.

I'm excited too about Merida and Vela but slightly feel this is going down the same road as this year, relying a bit too much on kids.

Walcott could be better than Agbonlahor but we need a big squad and I feel we need to add a striker.

If Denilson and Diaby are good enough then we should use them. They should both play this weekend if you ask me.

As for Flamini, Wenger couldn't drop him as he was one of our best players this season, he couldn't even rest him.

Why do we need a fantastic keeper? for me that is spending money that could be spent in other postions. Toure for me should always start in defence even though the second half of the season his form has been indifferent. It's gallas that needs to pave way. for the rest of the season i'd play the fringe players in there preferred positions i.e Walcott upfront, Diaby and Denilson in the centre maybe even eboue at right back or hoyte. The way Wenger uses his squad is what annoys me alot, like when he played Fabregas on the right against wigan when walcott was on the bench. Like how he'd rather play hleb in the hole with eboue on the right rather than just pushing hleb out wide and walcott upfront, you have to try these players where they are natural otherwise how will they get the experience. If Flamini and Fabregas play every week how will Diaby and Denilson and Song ever push for a starting place. You can't expect these players to just come in and do a job if they are never played when everyone is fit.

Chelsea, Liverpool and Man Utd all have world class goalkeepers who win them games and earn them points. Do we? Goalkeeper is a massively important position, especially in big games and Almunia, while not having made any massive mistakes has been far from impressive. He is very nervy in big games, comes for things he shouldn't and despite being a decent shot stopper is a back up goalie and nothing more.

Toure for me should always start in defence even though the second half of the season his form has been indifferent. It's gallas that needs to pave way.

They have both been below what is acceptable recently if you ask me. Senderos was steady for a while and then in a big game all his old mistakes came back. Hopefully a new rock-solid centre back could help those around him.

We need major work on the squad to compete. Don't be fooled by the baby steps we have taken forward this season. We are very far from winning anything.

Years ago we had Lukic in goal and he was ok but we replaced him with Seaman, Chelsea had Cuducini a few years ago, a very good keeper at the time, and they replaced him with Cech, a fantastic keeper.

I think people underestimate how important having an excellent keeper instead of a pretty good one is, it can be the difference with him winning you 10 points or so in a season instead of costing you a few.

A big problem this season has been that we've been unable to rest key players like Cesc, Flamini, Hleb, Adebayor, Sagna or Toure to name a few and when we've had injuries to key players the ones coming in haven't been good enough.

There have been times when Cesc and Flamini could've been rested but wenger chose not to. diarra was crying to get a game was wasn't given many and Diaby and Denilson and Song all sat on the bench while Cesc played, he could've been rested or subbed off but never was.

We've played most of the season without key players yet we still performed very well so to me there isn't alot of work that needs to be done, just a little fine tuning.

We've performed excellently........right up until March when we then ran out of steam and the injuries and people like Cesc, Hleb and Flamini having to play in every game if they were fit.

Ok maybe there were a few occasions where we could have rested Cesc or Flamini, not many mind, but because they were playing so well and every time Diaby, Denilson or Song played they hardly set the world alight I'm sure at the time we would have thought Wenger was having a laugh leaving out our 'two best players'.

Maybe he should have done it though because playeing them every week has not exactly worked either.

As for Diarra, I'm gutted he left really because the CM player we now need is someone like Diarra. Maybe he should have played a bit more, but on the other hand he hardly gave it time..........the moany fuck.

Maybe if they were rested earlier in the season when we had a fuller squad they wouldn't look so leggy now!

Well there have been times when they could've been rested and now due to injuries we are paying the price. The players coming in won't set the world alight cos neither did Fabregas or flamini when they first got chances, it had taken a long time esp for flamini to prove his worth and that was only through sheer luck.

Before he got injured, the rumour going around Oakwell was that you guys were going to sign Heinz Muller from us (Barnsley) and I could still see it being true to be honest, once he's back from injury obviously. I reckon either in the summer or next January he'll be playing regularly for you.

He's a top quality keeper and I'd much rather have him in my team than Almunia.

By winning championships  To be fair the squad is rotated a lot and all the players are involved in games quite regularly as long as they're fit. I don't think we need Moutinho as he's another attacking midfielder and we have those in abundance but I'd love to see Veloso at the Old Trafford.

Man Utd have been linked with two players i wouldn't mind seeing join us in Joao Moutinho and Miguel Veloso. It's funny, Man utd have a massive squad yet they want more players! I just dunno how they keep them all happy.

Trophies. And money.

United always add to their squad. We either don't bother and don't win anything or sit back and never do a back-to-back Prem. I don't know what the answer is. One day I think the squad will make it and the next day I think we need to buy six star players. I think we need to ask ourselves whether any of our current 'second string' batch will turn into an Anderson, Tevez, Nani, Rooney, Torres, Gerrard, Terry, Ferdinand, Vidic, Ronaldo etc. cos that's what we're competing with. I don't think they will so that means we'll struggle to compete for years unless we buy. I think a strong bond, good football and teamwork will get you so far but you really do need need properly excellent players rather than a bunch who are just punching above their (£500k) weight. Ronaldo and Torres have been the stand out players this season and have made their teams perform and achieve. We've got no-one to carry us when the going gets tough and no-one to make it happen when no-one else is firing.

But i'm suprised the players are happy as you would think that players like Tevez would wanna play every game which he could do at another club.

He's admitted himself that he isnt fully fit and is unable to play 90mins every game I think. He has been crucial this season though, scoring some massively important goals.

I heard a rumour that Kia J. is going to ask £37mil for him which is frankly laughable. As it stands the loan deal has been excellent business.
