There's no doubt that Lehmann has to go. He's been getting a little too big for his boots recently. He had a good World Cup but he has to face facts that he cost us points at the start of the season and Almunia deserves his starting place at the moment.

I think that Gilberto is deliberately being quiet on his future as he wants to see what happens with Flamini. If Flamini goes I doubt Wenger will splash the cash on a replacement, it's not his style. He'd probably play Gilberto there whilst shaping Denilson to be his replacement.

Last I heard Hleb was wanted by Barca. Now its Inter too? Let's hope he's true to his word that he wants to stay.

Hate to say but if Gilberto's playing for you regularly next season you've got no chance of winning the title.

Come to think of it, Helb did have ice cream with those inter fuckers when we were over playing Milan.

He must be leaving us come the summer...

If Flamini left us this summer, god forbid, there's no way Wenger wouldn't replace him with a new signing. Poor old Gilberto is past it and Denilson's far to raw.

Well, there's the final nail in the coffin.

Some might say we've over-achieved this year. I say we bottled it. In spectacular fashion. Bad luck at times, but since the FA Cup game at ManYoo it's gone to shit.

Sooner the 38th game is played the better.

We do everything right except score goals. Our play was brilliant today, we just didn't have that cutting edge up front.

How many times have we really deserved to lose recently? But we do and for me it is little things like Eboue starting, Adebayor playing upfront on his own. He had an off day today but because hleb was his support we were never gonna score, if he had another striker with him then they could maybe take the heat off of him but hleb never shoots which is why i'd prefer Walcott or vanpersie with adebayor. In the end we've improved a hell of alot from last season and with a decimated squad we put in two great performances against two top sides but just lacked that little bit extra that maybe our injured players would've given us.

You could say we deserved something from that but like I said in the utd thread, it was all those missed chances in the first half that cost us the game.

Have to say, Song looked pretty decent at the back. Not too long ago I thought he was the shittest thing going. Fair play to the young lad for proving me wrong!

I'm feeling hard done by! Don't deserve to be losing this!

It's a bit hard to take week after week.

I was thinking exactly the same thing. With all due respect, United aren't amazing. Nor are Chelsea. But they know how to win games. All we know is how to throw them away.

Thanks for nothing. Even if we beat them at the Bridge, they've still won it. Gallas is pathetic.

Pfft, if you can't win it under your own steam you don't deserve it. Arsenal have played as twice the team Chelsea have this season, so if anyone else other than United deserve it they do.

We were awesome at times today but I don't think we can feel too hard done by - after all we scored with a deliberate handball. Once again we let the lead slip within minutes, although in unfortunate style... you could see Gallas realised the ball was going to hit his arm and tried to move it out of the way, but that just made it look more deliberate. After that it was fairly predictable that they'd get a winner even if took a cracking free kick to do it. We started to look a bit tired in midfield, although we still could've easily had an equalizer.

Eboue demonstrated clearly that he's not good enough to be starting regularly in midfield, but then to be fair Walcott came on and showed why he's not been given the opportunity earlier... the first few times he got the ball he ran straight into trouble or took it round one player only to miscontrol it.

Song looked alright but there were a few times he seemed to be out of position and his mistake almost cost us in the first half (great Lehmann save - would Almunia have made it?)

I thought Hleb had a cracking game, he really is brilliant when he's given that free role, it's just a shame he doesn't have a decent shot on him but it didn't seem to matter too much today when we had Fabregas getting into shooting positions and van Persie drifting in from the left as well.

Well that's another season over, incredibly disappointed :)

It’s disappointing for sure, but it’s a huge kick on from last season. Look at the players who have improved, Ades arrival as a 20 goals a season player, the full backs, Flamini, Hleb etc. There’s so many positives this season.

Indeed, alot can be taken from this season. there are only a few areas where we need to improve really. Gallas has shown recently that he shouldn't be captain and maybe not at the club. Lehmann needs to go. We need a left back (an experienced one as cover) Eboue shouldn't start over walcott even if right midfield isn't walcotts position if its a choice between those two walcott wins. We need real cover for Rosicky ( hopefully Vela and merida will provide that) Walcott should start upfront more. And finally we need a real leader. I'd like a real strong centre back but can't quite think of any. As for captaincy i was thinking about this last night and right now the only player i believe does a captains job (rallying the troops and always giving 110%) is Flamini, it would be starnge but he has shown great character this season and that's what we need.

It might help to convince Flamini to stay but also make Gallas want to leave. Sad to hear the stories of Senderos breaking down after the Liverpool game as well, a good captain should help him out. He's not a lost cause by any means - I agree with getting Adams on board as long as he doesn't take all of our youngsters out on the lash.

To be honest, can anyone think of anyone else who could be captain? My only other choice would be toure but he isn't vocal enough. Gallas has said he has no friends at Arsenal and i know he is a good defender but maybe we should sell him and try and buy a strong centre back, i jus dunno who.
