The Jens and Drogba show was a missed sitcom for sure.

There's a lot of talk in the papers about big change at Arsenal, Wenger as said he'll be taking a very critical look at the club so hopefully cash will be splashed. Richards is a very good call, versatile and bags of gas. What do people think of Gareth Barry? He always looks very classy to me.

I believe Mathieu will be out for three weeks," Wenger told the club's official website.

"It is a big blow but Gilberto has a lot of quality and experience. He will come in. He can help the team recover and focus.

Why not play Diaby with Cesc, or even Song?

What on earth has happened to Denilson? Some reports seem to suggest that he got utterly fucked in that ill-advised behind closed-doors game against the rapids after the Milan tie. Which was held for Van Persie's benefit and subsequently saw him get injured again :o

I never like to go into any game feeling negative but without Flam on Sunday we really are truely fucked. Utd got to rest Ronaldo and Rooney - we get yet another fucking injury. ACES!!!

The squads not looking that much better than the FA Cup game there, is it? Worrying.

On the subject of Lehmann, I wish he'd just piss off already. That's no way to talk about a colleague, someone who should be your friend. I can't recall Almunia ever slagging Lehmann off for all those years he was second choice. Hopefully he won't make it into the German squad for Euro 2008, the miserable wanker.

Barry, Richards and Crouch? Fucking hell, let's just give Rob Jones and Carlton Palmer a ring and see what they're up to whilst we're at it.

I'm sorry but Richards is pretty fucking solid, consistent and less heart attack inducing then Senderos.

Wenger won't splash big on Richards, when it's not likely he will get in the team. Plus his postioning for a defender is pretty awful, it's only his pace that saves him.

From toay's BBC gossip column...

Arsenal want to sign 14-year-old Portsmouth hotshot Aaron Spear. (Daily Mirror)

Phew, sounds just like the signing we need. I'm sure Platini would love it too.

There was also this...

Obafemi Martins has snubbed a £15m move to Arsenal because he wants to fire Newcastle into Europe. (The Sun)

Hmm...

That Martins story is bollocks. They make it sound like we've gone in for him and he turned us down but all it's saying, if it's saying anything at all, is that he would turn us down if we were to make a move.

If we were to make a move for him I reckon he would jump at the chance.

As for the 14 year old, yeah great news he should be good in about 10 years.

A bit bored and i was thinking, I reckon we need about 5 or 6 signings in the summer but what if you could pick 6 ex Arsenal players (at their peek) to add to our current squad who would you go for?

mine are

Ian Wright

Pires

Tony Adams

Overmars

Bergkamp

Petit

I was tempted to include Seaman or Vieira. Imagine what a Keown would give us now.

Tricky one. The no-brainers for me are Tony Adams, Dennis Bergkamp and Patrick Vieria. After that I’d shortlist Anelka, Thierry, Manu, Ian Wright, David Seaman, Paul Merson, Martin Keown,

Have to agree with you there, he's been quite the prick this season. While I'll miss him for being our crazy German, who would wig out spazmatically at absolutely nothing, the lads been acting like a cunt the whole season.

I'm amazed Almunia has been able to bite his tongue for this long.

I'd be amazed if he's still with us next season.

And that Helb story, I'm sure that's bollocks.

From the Guardian:

Since then, Lehmann has been increasingly getting under Wenger's skin and there was a telling scene at the manager's press conference yesterday when he was asked whether the German would get a new contract when his present deal expires at the end of this season. "Pardon?" said Wenger incredulously. The question was repeated and Wenger snorted with laughter. "The boss is trying to build a team of kind people," says Almunia. "He wants easy-going people who have character. He doesn't like arguments in the dressing room."

There's no doubt that Lehmann has to go. He's been getting a little too big for his boots recently. He had a good World Cup but he has to face facts that he cost us points at the start of the season and Almunia deserves his starting place at the moment.

I think that Gilberto is deliberately being quiet on his future as he wants to see what happens with Flamini. If Flamini goes I doubt Wenger will splash the cash on a replacement, it's not his style. He'd probably play Gilberto there whilst shaping Denilson to be his replacement.

Last I heard Hleb was wanted by Barca. Now its Inter too? Let's hope he's true to his word that he wants to stay.
