Flamini did ok at left back as well though. Did he sign on a free from Marseille?

Yes and yes. Well sort of:

Flamini was on a meagrely rewarded trainee's contract at the time and under French Federation rules was obliged to sign his first senior deal with OM. There was a legal get-out, however. Join a club from another EU country and the transfer fee would be limited to Fifa-mandated 'training compensation', allowing Flamini to negotiate a far more lucrative salary. Marseille waited until April to make their player a serious offer, by which point Wenger had seen enough. Marseille received slightly over £320,000 for a man Anigo accused of 'beautiful treason'.

The problem was though that he was never going to be our regular left back, being right footed, and he didn't seem to be good enough to play in his preferred position of centre midfield. Until this season that is.

Eboue is always shit. The prob is we just don't have the strentgh in depth and with our massive injury list this season we've been screwed. we need to buy some players that can compete for a starting line up now, not in a few years, esp on the flanks.

you can't drop Walcott into the hole left if you take eboue out and expect him to run up the sides and put the ball into the box for the lethal combination of adebeyor and van persie? Sorry, I meant Bendtner... and Van Persie...

No. Wait...

it's true; he definitely seems to rub people up the wrong way and was celebrating all on his own on saturday. it reminds me a bit of collymore's time at forest; i hope they're keeping bendtner away from the ladies' team.

myles palmer is a verbose, know-nothing cunt but the idea of going in for crouch is not a bad one at all. he is a tidy player

bad result on saturday, but it was all made better when RAY FUCKING PARLOUR walked into the tollington after the game for a few. for some reason he had chris kiwomya with him too - presumably he had a shift on later

We know our squad is too small and some players, especially Cesc, play in too many games because we cant afford to rest them, but this stat is just ridiculous.

The young Spaniard will not be 21 until next month and yet he has already played an astonishing 204 times for club and country.

By the same age, Frank Lampard had taken part in just 100 and Steven Gerrard a mere 84.

We've absolutely got to splash the cash in the summer, no two ways about it.

According to F365 Rosicky will miss the rest of the season and is a doubt for the Euros - he's not even sprinting yet and is in pain after jogging. His national team Dr seems to think that its down to an imbalance in his muscles that originates from when he was a kid and means that he'll always be injury prone.

Bugger.

So in plain English - he's fucked.

It means (but we all knew) that he can't be relied on over the length of a season. Wenger knows this as well and needs to buy someone else. It won't go down well next year if he buys no-one but says "Rosicky bla bla bla, Van Persie bla bla bla" when the squad thins. Not having a go at le boss, the injuries aren't his fault but its clear that we could have done better this season with a deeper squad - he admits that we'd still be top without the injuries but having cover is the next best thing in that situation. I know we probably have Merida and Vela coming back though, so lets see how that goes.

I still lament the decision to sell Diarra even though he is a mercenary git. He would be starting ahead of Gilberto.

In a few years no-one will remember that Arsenal played great football at times, but they'll remember who won the title.

What about Rooney or Owen?

You might laugh but I think Crouch would be a great buy - he'd do the job that Bendtner's been given a lot better, especially from open play. Doubt that it would happen though.

He's English.

He's white.

He's what? 23? About 6 years too old.

Seriously though I want to see some serious action in the summer or I am gonna be massively pissed off.

You never know, there might be some behind the scenes stem-cell work going on. We could have a 'clone squad' which we could butcher spare parts from when our players get crocked.

So, wishlists? (just a bit of fun).

Out:

Gilberto

Eboue

Rosicky (?)

Hoyte

In:

Vela

Merida

Crouch

Agbonlahor or N'Zogbia

Green or Kirkland

Five players? Six? Can't fuck around now.

I think all these must be candidates for the chop..

Lehmann

Hoyte

Traore

Gilberto

Rosicky

Eboue

Bendtner

Djourou

Possibly van Persie due to two seasons of virtual no show

Gallas might be off too, IMO

And we need genuine competition for places. It's too fucking comfortable at Arsenal right now. And I include Wenger in that, he should know we need results.

We can laugh but when did we last have a player who really went at players? Limpar?

*thinks*

Oh, well.. Overmars, obviously. That's the type of player we need, someone to make something happen when the football isn't working.
