* Profit before tax of £20m (2006 - £12.9m excluding exceptional costs) arising from growth in the football business and reduced property development contributions.

* Broadcasting income up £6.5m to £24.3m from new Premier League domestic and overseas TV deals

* Match day income £41.4m (2006 - £38.0m) boosted by inaugural Emirates Cup

* Results demonstrate continuing success of Emirates Stadium and strength of the Club's business model

* Excellent start to the 2007/08 season and entered 2008 on top of the Premier League

* Continued development of opportunities provided by Emirates Stadium including international friendly between Sweden and Brazil and two Bruce Springsteen concerts to be staged in second half of financial year

* Launch of Arsenal TV in January 2008, marking six-year partnership between Arsenal and Setanta Sports

Worth reading the Chairman's Statement if you have time. A few interesting bits in there.

Ah Jesus, poor guy. Was it vicious or just clumsy from Taylor?

He didn't mean to break his leg but it's the usual way teams try and deal with Arsenal by getting rough for the first 10-15 mins. Unfortunately for Taylor he's made a decision that he's going to have to live with for quite some time. Even more unfortunate for him, is that it's the only thing people will probably ever remember him for.

Fuck. 1-0.

Lets cut these wankers to bits. I want goals.

from the guardian site:

Apologies for not watching the football for a couple of minutes - it's basically a training session anyway - but I've just seen a picture of Taylor's challenge, and it is completely and utterly disgraceful. Flying through the air studs up, he lunges in halfway up the shin of Eduardo's standing leg. The striker's leg clean snaps at a right angle; no wonder Fabregas was holding his head in his hands the minute he saw it. It's going to be an ethical dilemma for sports editors across the country, is this picture.

1403: GOAL Birmingham 1-1 Arsenal

Maik Taylor makes two fingertip saves from Cesc Fabregas and Alex Hleb but the Birmingham keeper then flaps at a cross under pressure from Emmanuel Adebayor and Theo Walcott stabs home his first Premier League goal.

Better. Not that it helps Eduardo much.
