We even looked slow at the back at times despite the fact we had Gallas and Sagna out there. Like I said, we have no excuses.

I only saw the highlights, but to me, Gallas seemed badly at fault for 3 of the goals. Was he that bad last night or did he get left exposed a lot?

What was going on with Bendtner and Gallas near the end?

EMMANUEL ADEBAYOR appeared to butt Arsenal team-mate Nicklas Bendtner during a furious bust-up. Adebayor seemed to nut the Dane in the face.

Bendtner was left with a gash on the bridge of his nose before skipper William Gallas managed to pull the warring duo apart.

Arsenal boss Arsenal Wenger insisted he had not seen the incident and said: “I don’t know what you’re talking about. But Gallas admitted: “They know they have made a mistake and they will have to explain why they did that. ”

I had a bad feeling about yesterday and it had to happen one day. Glad it happened in the League Cup and not the league. Also glad I weren't there to see that shit.

They just wanted it more. We ended up with a strong-ish team but the team that started contained maybe 3 first teamers? Anyway, a terrible result and one we need to get over fast. Two big games against Newcastle coming up.

EDIT: Also, not meaning to point fingers and find a culprit, but there were lots of players out there who just aren't good enough or are finished. Gilberto is finished, Walcott is never going to make it, Diaby is sooooooo frustrating, he always holds the ball too long. Hoyte's a tryer but not good enough really. And the keeper made a hash of Keane's goal but you can maybe give him another chance considering the state of the defence in front of him.

It's a massive disappointment, I think we really need to win something this season.

Luckily, my ticket for the match never materialised so I didn't have to see the disaster in the flesh.

I'd like to view it as an act of charity. For sp*rs it was like winning the world cup, premier league and champions league all in one. Chelsea will beat them in the final anyway.

Agree 100% with all of that. Walcott is a major, major disappointment. Diaby isn't up to it after showing much promise when he arrived. Traore has a lot to learn too, our left flank was awful. What the fuck has happened to Fabregas? As for Gilberto, lovely bloke and all that but he should be sold immediately if we can get any cash at all for him. I'd have sold him and Diaby to try to make Diarra stay. I know his attitude was awful but he'd have improved us last night no end.

I really hope Wenger has a winger lined up. We really need some genuine pace and trickery.

It's amazing though.. the amount of people on FB with the status of Av that you Arsenal scum etc ...

Imagine the relief after waiting 9 years for something to finally get it. Let them have their Carling Cup. We have bigger fish to fry.

Yup. Gilberto was dreadful last night, IMO he was what was wrong with us last season - he does score the occasional goal but his passing is dreadful, he can't tackle and he offers no cover for the back four. I've never been a fan of Gilberto as a footballer but of late he's completely lost the plot. Traore, Denilson and Diaby have all been really poor this season, Walcott needs to go out on loan and I remain unconvinced by Eduardo.

Spurs played well though, Ramos has really knocked them into a decent side - they're much more confident and athletic than they were under Jol.

Still, it's only the League Cup - plenty still to play for this season.

It's like you're reading my mind. Are you somehow reading my mind?

The only worry is that, under Wenger, we have a habit of losing badly with an understrength team and carrying that form forward for a couple of games.

It's just the way it is and what any sane Arsenal fan would be thinking today. This is their high point, this is our 4th priority. It's all there is to it. Football has changed. Back in the days when we had nothing else to play for I would be gutted today. As it is i'm mildly annoyed. More because I have to deal with scum coming out the wood work at work looking smug. Where were you when you were shit? You know, like last month.

Yes we sometimes struggle to bounce back but hopefully this shit doesn't affect our results going forward. Need a good result straight away to get back on track. And a new centre back. And get rid of Gilberto. And Walcott.

From the footage on SSN it looked more of a swinging right arm and then a push. I don't think he butted him.

Apparently this is what kicked it all off the other day.

I'm on because you're shit
EMMANUEL ADEBAYOR sparked the amazing Arsenal butting row by calling Nicklas Bendtner ‘shit’.

And SunSport can reveal the Carling Cup bust-up at Spurs was the result of a long-running feud between the strikers.

A source said: “The first thing Adebayor said to Bendtner was ‘I’m only on because you are so shit!’

"He has been on Bendtner’s case for a long time.

“The pair do not get on and it finally boiled over on Tuesday night when Adebayor came on as a sub with the team 4-0 down.

“Bendtner ignored him — but when Adebayor said the same thing again later on, Nicklas gave Manny the finger and it all kicked off.”

The warring team-mates had to be pulled apart as Adebayor nutted Bendtner in the face.

not funny really, but it did make me laugh a little.

Team mates fighting amongst themselves on the pitch is obviously not good but at least it shows the fans that the players are showing some passion and the fans are not the only ones who are pissed off at the result and performance etc.

I would much rather see that than smiles and pats on the back and joking with their friends from the other team at the final whistle.

Did anyone see Gallas's team talk on the pitch before the game that shit the other night - different class. You could see he was saying 'we always win' and 'be careful' It seemed he was saying they will come at us at 100mph and to be on our toes as for them this is their biggest game of the season. Unfortunately we didn't do what he said and he was spot on.

Quality team talk all the same and he definitely has a future in management, underlined (again) Wenger was 100% correct to give him the captaincy.

Well maybe it wasn't that great of a team talk? :P

You can't have that sort of shit between team mates full stop, whether it's off the field or on. Wenger and Gallas are constantly referencing the great team spirit in the camp this season - on the other night's evidence that only applies when you're doing well - and it's up to manager and captain to sort it out. Getting rid of Bendtner would just be the easy way out and counterproductive in the long run because he actually looks pretty good imo.

Bendtner needs to keep his gob shut and stop mouthing off to foreign press about his lack of first team games. He must be stupid if he thinks talking to foreign journalists means that the fans and Wenger won't find out.

Hopefully that smack on the nose will have knocked some sense into him.

If they can't sort it out between them it will mean Bendtner will be turfed out the club.

Yeah, I think the same. He comes across as quite cocky but Adebayor has obv. been stupid too. Not needed.

My other concern is Fabregas. Not the same player for the last couple of months.
